This ya table no dey correct.
Agm date and payment date for Gtco is
tomorrow 9th May.
Not 15th May.
Zenith is today.(8th May)
Gtco tomorrow.(9th May).
Back to back tins.

The GTCO final dividend on the table also needs to be corrected.

l want to ask a question concerning Transcorp share reconstruction. What will happen to the share price ? Will it be increased by the factor with which the share is reduced ?

l remembered vividly Mansard share reconstruction exercise and what happened there after

Yes, it should be multiplied by that factor.

This is the definition of a valueble asset!

Some folks are of the view you can't predict the future;but I am certainly sure that from year 2025 to 2045,Zenith Bank will never declare a loss for any single financial year.

If, you're a newbie like myself;start buying substantial amount of Zenith Bank shares every single month and you will never regret it!
you can't predict the future, some of us thought oceanic bank and intercontinental will be top ranking banks but they are in the box somewhere in the ground.

in life everything is a risk, those that are at top now might be no more, the least in a group can become number one in the future and leading number one now can go under or seize to exist. I am an investor and I know fully well that not all at the top now will be what it used to be in the next 30 years. That is why we are all experienced to always put our ears to the ground.

I know how it feels when 10m and 100k units turn to 10k and 1k units overnight,

Does this mean that if I sell my UBA shares for example on 10th of May, I'll be qualified to receive dividend or i have to wait till 13th before i can sell to qualify for dividend payment?

Oh! I see. That one took a while. SP matching the offer price is the most optimistic scenario I can imagine.

However, I did notice their website has been redesigned to reflect their new business focus. All IMO.

To be entitled to the dividend, I think you will need to hold the stock a few days before the ex-dividend date. On that day, the stock value is dropped by the same amount as will be earned when the dividend is paid (with respect to current price). Unless the stock makes a quick recovery, or you are sure it will continue dropping in value, I don't see why you would want to sell it on that day. I would recommend selling the next day to be sure, but you can still sell and provide us with feedback on whether you received your dividend. undecided

Good morning. It's Morgan Capital Securities itrade website platform - the stockbroker firm introduced it some years ago, as a online place for real time trading

If you sell your UBA on or before 10th of May, you will not qualify to receive dividend. If you sell on 13th or thereafter, you will receive your dividend.

The key date is the Qualification Date (10th May in this instance). You would notice that on 13th, the opening price would be the closing price on 10th less N2.30 (dividend).

The closing price on 10th would be cum-dividend (cum-div) i.e. inclusive of the declared dividend. While the opening price on 13th is ex-dividend (ex-div) i.e. after dividend has been deducted (marked down for dividend).

Okay, so I want to understand this correctly. If I don't have my shares registered with the stock registrar by the qualification date, I won't receive a dividend? And even if I am registered, but I sell my shares before the ex-dividend date, I also won't get the dividend? undecided
