Enlightened, the problem is that I'm being falsely accused of being a bigot, of being partial to the trolls, of closing threads that SHOULD BE CLOSED because they violate particular rules. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I have disagreed with your allegations of being partial and agreeing with the trolls but you insist I do, there's nothing I can do if you don't believe me, it seems as if your mind has been set in regards to that. Then you said I was bigoted towards other Nigerians that are not Fulani but in every thread I am the one telling Nigerians of all ethnic groups to never forget who they are and to never abandon their respective cultures in favour of Westernised ones.

So, essentially, the thread and it's comments were left as is, but, me, I was MUTED. If I did something wrong and need to be shut up, why not just ban me? That would've been kinder than leaving the post, but then tying my hands and gagging me from response.

Fulaman seems like a sincere guy. I used to be Mod of a very popular site with lots of traffic and I can understand where he is coming from. The truth is that you can't really win with anyone if you're a mod. Some people will think that you are too biased/unfair/strict, others will accuse you of not doing your job properly. Most of the time, these people don't know all the hard work that is done behind the scenes. People will have some unfair expectations of you as if you do not have a life outside of the internet and as if being a mod is a paid job.

It's also very frustrating to keep following these trolls around every time they pop back up with a new account. You can IP-ban, but even that is futile since they can just use a VPN and use a different IP.

If I can point out one thing that you could've done better in dealing with that thread (and similar thread), it would be to delete the whole mess instead of closing it. The whole thread was created for the purpose of degrading an entire group of people.

On the other hand, I've noticed that threads are hardly ever deleted here which is why many of the vile, racist trash that the Somali trolls have posted is still on the forum, so I guess people can not accuse you of being biased in that regard.

Yah not only that, but even with IP addresses as you know (not too sure how strong you are with networking science and engineering). An ISP can sometimes change the IP address of their customer (This is the outside NAT address) when it expires within their DHCP pool, so banning by IP address can only happen for so long. Another thing, people don't always post from home or via the same ISP. For instance, if someone posts from a coffee shop, their IP address will be different than if they are posting from home.

I hope that you reconsider not leaving. Ajuran hasn't actually posted in a while as any other alter ego. Please don't make him feel more important than he really is. If we give him attention, he will feed off of the attention.

Thanks, sometimes though it's not an easy process going through every post 1 by 1 and filtering them out. In essence, there is no way to essentially delete a thread unless if the first post of said thread is hidden (as we had seen with the thread you created). Sometimes, there are good posts within a thread that I would prefer not to delete and going through all the posts in their entirety can take an "X" amount of time which I often don't have.

I do appreciate your advice though and I will constantly keep it in mind.

I also forgot to mention browsers like TOR ROFLLL. So many people have access to proxies and stuff like that these days when they want to do bad things in the cyber world.

I don't know how long Ajuran has been here, but I don't think it has been longer than 5 years. I could be wrong though as I have only been here since 2010.

With that said, and I hope that you will listen to me. If we give people more attention than they truly deserve, of course they will keep coming back.

Now, in regards to creating a new screen name, that requires that you also create a new e-mail account. To do so, requires a surplus amount of time on one's hands. As I mentioned earlier, the reason why he kept creating different accounts is because I have banned him on numerous occasions. He even accused me of "Desert Justice" and practising "Sharia Law".

I think the newer trolls here though should be ignored for the most part. If people give them attention, they will believe that they are winning and believe that whatever they are doing here is actually affecting the self-esteem of the people that they are attempting to demean. Often if people ignore someone else, eventually they will believe that whatever they are doing is falling on deaf ears.

With that said, I personally don't want to see you leave.
