D source puts d population of Isoko pple at 2.1 million. I doubt that figure. From which census was dat figure gotten? That figure only exist in d imagination of d source. Apart from Oleh and Ozoro which are d headquarters of Isoko south and Isoko North respectively, and prehaps Irri etc, all other Isoko towns have very insignificant population. How many Isoko pple are based outside Delta State? If Isoko pple are upto 2.1 million, then d Urhobos should be upto 6 million pple. The Isokos have 2.1 million pple and they still can't define their place in the political control of Delta State?

My brother, if I may ask how have the Urhobo's also been able to define their place in politics of Delta state and yet you claimed to be much more than isokos Uduaghan ruled for 8years even amids post election saga with Ogboru son of the Urhobos where you cannot with your large population put him in office yet you claimed majority, now Ifeanyi Okowa from the ika region is coming in yet you cannot vote the urhobo candidate, my brother dont player hate isokos cos we ain't claiming majority.

Funny post brobably from an Isoko native. U thoroughly misunderstood my point anyway. Playing hate on the Isokos for what reason? When I have two cousins happily married to Isoko ladies, two uncles happily married to Isokos ladies (meaning I have loads of cousins who have Isoko blood running in them). I am even replying u right now in Oleh.
What's my qualms about Ogboru not winning governorship in Delta, is Delta the sole property of the Urhobos? Ur inability to wrestle power from Manager since Stella Omu left d senate after a single term should be ur concern for now and not Ogboru's palaver.
The population ascribed to Isokos is grossly inflated and u know that. Next time dnt quote me when all u have to offer is hate, tribalism and bigotry.

I still don't see any difference between Isoko and Urhobo. Saying that both groups are different tribes is the sane as saying that Arochukwu, Ngwa, Otuocha, Awka, Oji variety of Igbos are different.

deegwoo, megwoo is just a little change. I wish I am from one of these two tribes really really understand the differences.

Let's look at the same sentences in Igbo dialects.

Queens English: I am going to school.
Standard Igbo: M na-aga ülö akwükwö.
Onitsha Igbo: M na-aga ünö akwükwö.
My village: M le-eje ülö ekwükwö.

All these mean the same thing but look different.

I din't mean any form of insultive or harsh words. But using ibo(which is totally unrelated 2 any of d languages being discussed) to xplain y isoko nd urhobo are d xame dosen't sound wise naw.how can I use chinese 2 xplain y Portuguese nd Spanish are d same .
Although u've asked a valid question these languages are not dialect of each other but are languages of their own infact they have their one dialects some of which are very distant nd should have being a language of it's own
And God will also improve ur brain coz trust me u really nid it grin uzeme me be ta kowe

If you are angry that I used Igbo language in my illustration, I'd advice you read my initial comment again. I used the language that I have deep understanding in to ask the OP to tell us more about the differences between Urhobo and Isoko.

What's wrong in learning? What's wrong in using some examples to drive your point home?

Op, well done for this cultural expose.
My opinion: you did not do justice to their social interactions that presents them as cunning, crafty and self centered (aka WAYO) or their passive aggression that has earned them the sobriquet 'Isoko tolo' pia'

Anyways, I noticed you did not include Bishop Gideon Okah of Flock of Christ Mission in your list of eminent Isokos

do u knw d meanin of isoko tolopia?

i speak isoko. and its very different from urhobo on my perception, honestly i have tried to listen to urhobo people talking but i cant understand them. if you break down the words they sound similar or look same but truth is they are different. what about the people of epie/atissa in yenagoa. their language has lots of isoko in it mixed with ijaw.i even understand them a lot when they speak because they use words that exactly the same as isoko most times. that does not mean they are ijaw or isoko. they can claim what they want to be called.
