Kanoko (travel charn) is very real as related by an elderly member of my family.. But it is used for emergency purposes.. Don't forget those days they relied on foot to travel..except if you're fortunate you may own a bicycle.
So they use Kanoko when they receive emergency messages or spiritual summons (aroko). E.g when there's trouble and the head or leader is needed. Or there's a war or something terrible is about to happen and one's presence is needed to avert or stop the trend. Kanoko is used.
It is believed to shorten the distance traveled and arriving at your destination at unbelievable speed. But it is also believed that you'll pay back the distance you covered with the charm when you sleep. I learnt that you'll trek that distance in ur sleep at night when your spirit is supposed to rest. Hence, the reason why they use the charm only for emergency purposes.
I hail Africa!

Ijebulogic:
It's interesting that we Africans are often criticised of being backward etc. Research has shown that some so called western "science" protected by "patents" have their roots in the same principles as we have in Africa. The problem is that our people use it for negative things while oyibos use it for societal advancement. can you believe that " hypnotism therapy" is fully accepted now as a medical option for treating trauma patients in the UK? If it was Africa, it would be labelled as jazz. hopefully our new generation will take a different view of some of this priceless knowledge for advancing our society and people. This list is all new to me but the most fascinating is the Kanako. This is "time travel" O!!! Any evidence that it works?

no...that's not it....Apart from KANAKO that i explained which will only involve your spirit walking in the dream state.....OFE doesn't do that......it will take you to the EXACT location you have in mind. But there is another variant of OFE that is called EGBE (which involves sudden catching away). Most often used when sudden harm wants to happen to the person, like accidents, attack befor e you even premeditate anything, without your consent. OFE involves CONSENT, but EGBE doesn't. EGBE can dump you in BERMUDA TRIANGLE grin but OFE will take you to your envisioned destination.
