I applied for an Italian visa since may 6th, it used to be 15 work days for their visa to be fully processed, am surprised that even till now they haven't been able to process mine. Does anybody have same problem with Italian embassy or you applied after 6th ? share your experience please

Please note that you are kindly request to present
your application at least 15 calendar days before
your departure.
So your documents must remain 15 days at the
Consulate General of Italy. Therefore if you start the
procedure at the Vfs, do not forget it will be longer
than 15 days because you have to add the 2 or 3 days
to transfer your documents from the Vfs to the
Consulate and the return.
15 days are just an indication, therefore the sooner
you start the procedure the better it is.

I think something is going wrong somewhere because am about to apply for a shengen visa via italy and my travel agent told to go through germany or wait till August if I insist on going through italy embassy. He didn't specify what is wrong actually but he insisted I should not apply now.

Have non of you noticed that Italy is flooded with migrants coming from many countries fleeing wars and atrocities?
The last thing they need is more green passports from Nigeria.
No wonder they are being slow.
Just look at news of European migrant crisis for your answer!

I am not part of those trying to flee. Just wanted to spend 8 days max there, got better things here.. they should return our passports then. Lol.

I got my passport back with a blue stamp. Application was refused, reasons are that they canot confirm my stay there, something related to that..after all the delay, I even got tired of the whole process, I submitted everything needed with a statement of 2.5M, all credit from company I work with (salary)..their reason sounds so stupid. .they should have just said they don't want people or they don't like young people..lol...all the best in your application.

Sorry about the refusal

Did you include your tax clearance?

Was the hotel reservation paid for and with receipt?

Did you book any side attraction centers to visit?

Did you write any follow up letter to show your
itinerary ?

Non of the hotel booking was paid for, I wrote a letter and I have about 3 hotel booked..one in Rome, Milan and Zurich.. I didn't want to pay for hotel because I don't want to waste that much without having the visa. .about 700 euros. For all 3.....about tax..I used the company I work for..my personal company tax clearance won't be out till January or February 2017.

Like you point out, we all don't just understand for now.

On a good day, one is not supposed to pay for hotel or make any financial commitment to the intended country.

But the way embassies treat Nigerians aint a good thing.

Your wife got it because she's married and has gor children and husby as home ties and prollly a good job too.

anyone, Have idea if someone is on visa ban? How do you know if you are under ban?
Re: Italy Visa by Lucky4real28(m): 10:45pm On Jun 23, 2016
Sorry for the late response, mine was submitted on may 6th.I think it spent a little over 40 days including weekends. I want to believe you got your passport back, according to a friend if you have been banned your passport will be stamped with red..mine is blue and it states visa IT 10 may 2016 Consulate generale d'italia Lagos....reason for rejection states "the information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable....check your slip..what do you have ticked.I believe if you have number 1) which says false/ counterfied/ forged documents was presented, you have been banned in all schengen embassy for a period of time I don't know..

Good morning, I was the one that created a thread on delay on Italian visa. I got a text that my application was ready for collection.

Lo and behold I was refused, the reason given was the same reason with yours.

The annoying part was that I submitted on the 19th of May 2016, and it was stamped 20th of May 2016, and I got a text 20th of June for collection. Can you imagine? I'm thinking of appealing because I was given 60 days to do that through a lawyer
I have a lawyer who can do that, but I don't know how long it will take for the appeal to come through.
Re: Italy Visa by Lucky4real28(m): 3:51pm On Jun 24, 2016
My brother please dont waste your time and money to appeal, you will need to get a lawyer in italy yo help you file an appeal, bros jus reapply for another schengen visa via another embassy or just go for Ireland if your documents are intact..as for me, I don't want to apply till next year..another thing is i suspect Italy dont want to give younger people visa because of high risk....if they follow the procedure like some embassy do, then I am very qualified as I have been working for over 2 years and a salary of about 360 after tax. Only negative is I am not married and in my mid 20's..
