Just got this message from MTN:

Dear customer, learn how to join the Do-Not-Disturb list to stop receiving unwanted campaign messages (except MTNN). Text HELP to 2442 for FREE

I hope this puts an end to all unwanted and unsolicited sms from MTN.
How many of you guys got this..?/

seems to be worth the try,
it gives an interface to control what ever subscription on MTN network after you must have subscribed to the do not disturb list.
you can opt in or opt out via sms or via web portal.
enjoy....!!!

I have subscribed and it is totally free with a web interface where you have total control of sms from MTN

for those still in doubt, find out about DND by NCC. seems only MTN has complied.

I was too harsh there..and you're right too. you can actually unsubscribe and SUBSCRIBE to all services as well

Anything coming from MTN is not to be trusted. Especially as them talk say they have only managed to pay barely a quarter of their N300b debt.
No be me them go take settle their debt. For now I would continue my manual deletion of unwanted sms.
