Preach the scandalous grace of God and some will misinterpret your message as an endorsement of sin. It’s practically inevitable. But those who dismiss grace as a license to sin merely show their ignorance of it. As John Calvin may have said, “How can the medicine that’s supposed to kill the disease (grace) feed the disease (sin)?”

“Hyper-grace preachers are soft on sin. They don’t condemn the sin that’s right in front of them.”

The same accusation could be leveled at Jesus. An adulterous woman was brought to him for judgment and he didn’t even mention her sin. Not once. Instead he said “go and sin no more” (John 8:11). Jesus wasn’t making a threat. He was saying, “Receive my gift of no condemnation and be set free from sin.”

“Hyper-grace preachers are closet sinners who distort the message of grace to accommodate their ungodly lifestyles.”

Grace preachers are sometimes compared to the licentious men of Jude 1:4. Because we stand with Jesus instead of the rock-throwers we are thought to be soft on sin and sinners. But this is a slanderous accusation made by the ignorant and graceless.

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness … (Titus 2:11–12a)

Jesus is the grace of God that offers salvation to all people. His grace teaches us to say no to sin. If the grace you’re drinking teaches you to say yes to sin, it’s not the grace of God. It’s a manmade substitute.

Saying grace promotes sin is like saying Jesus promotes sin. It’s slanderous at best, and blasphemous at worse. Grace isn’t permission to sin; it’s the power of God to sin no more.

Some make a great show of suppressing sin by laying down the law but all they do is drive sin underground. A law-based approach cannot work because the strength of sin is the law (1 Cor 15:56). Combating sin with the law is like trying to put out a fire with a bucket of gasoline.

It is not God’s law that teaches us to say no to ungodliness, it is his grace.

Those who seek to mix grace with law ruin the medicine that would otherwise set them free. Only God’s pure and undiluted grace can turn a sinner into a saint, a hater into a lover, and a Pharisee into an apostle.

Stumble and sin in a mixed-grace church and the message you get will be, “Look at what you did!” But sin in a hyper-grace church and the message will be, “Look at what he did and what you can now do because of what he did!”

A mixed-grace church would have you turn from every sin until you’re a dizzy sinner. But a hyper-grace church will do what Paul did with the sinning Corinthians and seek to reveal your true identity in Christ. They will say things like:

(You are) sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people … Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way … (and) he will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:2–5, cool.

We don’t get victory over sin by striving to keep the rules. We overcome sin by trusting Jesus who loves us and lives within. So reckon yourself dead to sin and alive to Christ and be free!

The write up claims Jesus brings about Grace but calls it 'modern grace'...If it's grace by Jesus, is that modern?
They call it the gospel of grace Please let all Christians be fed the truth, there is only one Gospel, it's that of Jesus which the early apostles believed and was passed to us. It is not modern, else all that died before wold be lost in Hell. It's same of Gospel that comes by Faith in Christ through His Grace.
What is different probably is method of preaching...
However, let all hear the Truth...If you sin and someone tells you about Grace and there is no problem. Pls there is problem cos no sinner will see God. The Truth simply is every sinner is under Grace and as much as each sinner comes to God in repentance, he is forgiven and saved.
Now for every one who wants to see God in Heaven, you can't just be under Grace, you need Grace in you. It is that Grace that makes you Holy, Sinless and Pure.
As explained above, there is nothing modern in this. RCCG, DLBC, Winners, MFM, CAC, Foursquare e.t.c all preach this and some of them have been around for 40 years.
Wesley, Spurgeon, Finney, Wigglesworth all preached it.
If any man or an angel preach any gospel other than that we have received, taught of our Fathers of old, let him be accursed...
Ye must be Holy!!!

My dear did you read the article at all? I understood you perfectly but Paul Ellis calling it modern grace doesn't mean it's a different gospel from what Christ preached, no. It's the same Gospel, just that after all the apostles died, man made tradition entered Christianity. John 3:16 is the pure gospel.

Telling people to stop sinning can never stop sin, cos you know what? man is fallen no matter what. Its only Christ's righteousness that makes us holy before God. Even a believer in Christ still has the flesh in him, not the Adamic sin nature though. The flesh in him can always cause him to sin though his spirit is saved, am not advocating sin. We are saved but we still live in a fallen body. It's the word of God that renews our mind.

And this issue of being out of fellowship or losing your salvation when a believer sins, is from the pit of hell. It is insulting the finished work of Christ on the cross. If every Christian can understand what happened at the cross, you will know that there's nothing like a believer losing his/her salvation. Christ literally passed through hell on the cross to save us and you are telling me that his death on the cross is not a finished work? What can u ( a mere mortal) do to save yourself? This issue of believers losing their salvation after sin and gaining it back after asking for forgiveness is an insult to God. It's an insult to the finished work of Christ on the cross. Read the above article very well, it's self explanatory. Grace is not a license to sin, am a living witness. It's God's grace that delivered me. When i was still attending a particular legalistic church that was still under the law, i was very far from God. Their legalism drove me away from church for 4 years, i didn't attend church cos the pastor always condemns us ( the members) to hell fire every Sunday.( you see the reason some people are becoming atheist? Though i don't support their decision at all) Its always about do this, don't do that, making the Christian life a bondage. But after God sent Joseph Prince my way, i became sooooooo close to Jesus!!! Because i didn't know that God loves me that much. The Gospel of Grace ( which is the real Gospel of Christ) changed me.

So my dear, i know you don't believe in my articles, but there's no problem. And am not someone that likes argument. I stay away from arguments cos i have hot temper, i always stay away from anything that will make me angry. I respect your opinion cos it's a free world. I can't force anyone to believe my articles. Am still happy that you are saved and we believe in the centrality of Christ Jesus. So can we let this rest? Peace.

Hey bro, no arguments.
I personally listen and read Joseph Prince's teachings and books.
You see I believe the reality or happenings in the world shouldn't interpret the Scriptures for us.
My bro, when a believer sins and dies in his sin, what's next for him? Will he fellowship with God?
Now, if a believer can't lose his salvation, and can sin even while saved, then what is he saved from?
If we so adore and exalt Christ's finished work, of what more important purpose is it?
To be saved while we continue in sin and darkness or translated from darkness to light, destroying the power of sin? Does salvation destroy only sin's guilt and allow sin or destroys both the sin and it's guilt?
Sir, if salvation is light and sin is darkness, shall a believer posses both?
Shall the Light Himself not be able to reproduce in Himself in us all?
I stand for Grace and Holiness...For without Holiness no man shall see God and he that is born of God cannot sin...
I owe every soul on earth the entire Truth and I'm sorry if I did this on your thread!

imagine if the US wants to go into war with Nigeria, and out of love she has for humans or the innocent Nigerian citizens, she made available cargo ships and aeroplanes at the seaports and airports of Nigeria promising or warning that who ever get into these ships and aeroplanes at specific or given period of time will be saved.but who ever that did not make it way to the ships or aeroplane will be killed.Note :in the warning she did not give a specific time.she said any time from now or very soon.I know if u are a Nigerian u will not have the guts buy nor sell simply because u know what America can do to Nigeria in terms of war.JESUS CHRIST is the ship to HEAVEN,JESUS CHRIST is the aeroplane to HEAVEN.Unfortunately most people are still buying and selling. pardon my English oo
