The world almost ended in 1975.

I kid you not.

From 1966 to 1975, the Watchtower regularly implied that Armageddon would arrive in 1975.

However, ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses about this date and they will invariably deny there ever being such statements.

As evidence, here are a few quotes from their own publications -

"The published timetable resulting from this independent study gives the date of man's creation as 4026 B.C.E.

According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975 C.E.

So six thousand years of man's existence on earth will soon be up, yes, within this generation. So in not many years within our own generation we are reaching what Jehovah God could view as the seventh day of man's existence.

How appropriate it would be for Jehovah God to make of this coming seventh period of a thousand years a sabbath period of rest and release, a great Jubilee sabbath for the proclaiming of liberty throughout the earth to all its inhabitants!

This would be most timely for mankind. It would also be most fitting on God's part, for, remember, mankind has yet ahead of it what the last book of the Holy Bible speaks of as the reign of Jesus Christ over earth for a thousand years, the millennial reign of Christ.

It would not be by mere chance or accident but would be according to the loving purpose of Jehovah God for the reign of Jesus Christ, the 'Lord of the Sabbath,' to run parallel with the seventh millennium of man's existence." Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God 1966 pp.26-30

I am just getting started.

This is from Awake! 1966 Oct 8 pp. 19 - 20

"Does God's rest day parallel the time man has been on earth since his creation?

Apparently so. In what year, then, would the first 6,000 years of man's existence and also the first 6,000 years of Gods rest day come to an end? The year 1975.

It means that within a relatively few years we will witness the fulfilment of the remaining prophecies that have to do with the "time of the end".

"It did not take the brothers very long to find the chart beginning on page 31, showing that 6,000 years of man's existence end in 1975.

Discussion of 1975 overshadowed about everything else. "

The new book compels us to realize that Armageddon is, in fact, very close indeed," said a conventioner. Surely it was one of the outstanding blessings to be carried home!" .. Brother Franz. 'Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could!

It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah's witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could.

But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don't any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975.

But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that."

At the 1967 District Convention, Wisconsin Sheboygan District Overseer Brother Charles Sinutko presented the talk "Serving with Everlasting Life in View", making the following statement:

"STAY ALIVE TILL '75"

The question we must now ask is this -

What was the reason for this fake prophecy?

Why did the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses have to claim the world would end in 1975?

Well, I have evidence backed by data that proves that they did this as a massive campaign to recruit new members.

The growth rate of publishers before and after 1975 proves the significance of 1975 for Jehovah's Witnesses and the affect of Armageddon's failure to eventuate at that time.

Food for thought -

Why would an organization that claims to be the ONLY TRUE RELIGION spread such falsehood only to recruit new members?

Why would the "only true religion" be spreading such lies?

No JW with their senses intact can come here to deny any of these. Why did they have to lie that they never made such False prophecy when their old publications have everything recorded? It is too late to lie. False Prophets as foretold by Jesus. grin

It wasn't just to recruit more members. It was also to fatten their bank accounts. It was their pattern to come up with false prophecies whenever they lose a lot of members and their bank accounts are drying up. Less members = Red account balance. Freemason JWs reported that their false prophecies are mainly driven by Money! Monkey dey work, Baboon dey chop. grin

I am waiting to hear from them.

Even my own parents never knew about about this false prophecy of 1975.

The day I showed my mum this shocking evidence, she almost felt like fainting.

Yes na.

More Members = More Money - from monetary contributions and more distribution of their "food at the proper time"

To be honest, their buisness model is very effective.

Religion is such a powerful tool in the hands of men.

God's people have always anticipate God's Kingdom and God never condemn any of His people for wrong expectations.
Only Jesus Christ who is a perfect worshiper of God never had wrong expectations but as for all other servants of God WRONG EXPECTATIONS has been peculiar with all of them.
So complaining about wrong expectations shows that you don't even know anything about God's people! smiley

No I wasn't there. My parents and their siblings were there. In fact, some of my relatives left because of the False prophecy while my parents are still in. Nothing like selling of property for my side o. When I ask my parents about it, they will just brush it off like it is insignificant. Power of Cognitive Dissonance. Funny man. grin

Imagine such bald faced whitewashing!

Imagine the nerve to call a proven FALSE PROPHECY a "wrong expectation".

This is just 1975 oo, I have not even talked about 1914 and 1925.

There is a video of JWs protesting in front of the Bethel Headquarters when the world didn't end in 1975. Very touching video. JWs lost a lot to this Cult. I will search for that video and post it here.

Wow.

I agree with you that Cognitive Dissonance is the biggest baggage of a Jehovah's Witness.

Their minds are captives of a concept.

That is why I am very bullish about doing research and learning from history - without bias.

So much has happened over the years that we must learn about.

And this not just about the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, but the history of Religion, Civilization, and the Universe in its totality.

As an ancient Sumerian once said - "The Future Lies in the Past"

We must study the past to understand the present and change the future.

The picture below explains the relationship between Oteneaaron and the JW apologists. Lmao cheesy

It is well

A note to every believer and seeker of TRUTH

At the end of the day, irrespective of whatever beliefs anyone chooses to subscribe to…sincerely love God and your fellow man. Don’t lie to one another.

Be good, not because of what you are expecting in return, but because it is in your very nature to want to do good. (Remember goodness is a part of the fruit of the Spirit)

If majority of humanity have this mindset, this world would be a much better place to live in and the fulfilment you seek won’t be far away.

It’s pointless arguing over doctrine if one is impure in heart and wicked and deceitful in character.

The character is what matters, not what you label yourself as.

I’ll prefer a honest Muslim with excellent character to be my room mate, than live on even the same street with a wicked, dishonest and greedy “Christian”.

My two cents. Peace and one love!

Their Governing Body discourages "independent thinking".

But how do you do research to study the past and not become an "independent thinker"?

Their greatest enemy are very own publications.

It is quite sad really.

Currently, there are millions of people who give their entire lives, money, and time to the Watchower Organization - whose foundations are clearly not sturdy, but instead filled with LIES.

False teachings birth false religions. False religion puts people in mind control and bondage.

We are in reality all ONE.

We are ALL part and parcel of an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent universal mind.

If I do harm to another man like myself, I am indirectly hurting myself too.

But unfortunately, religion as a concept, has made us forget this simple fact, instead it has been is used as a tool to tear use more apart.

Too many man-made doctrines and dogmas.

I completely agree with you.

That is why it is important to learn how to control our own minds and our thoughts as well.

Indoctrination as a tool of religion, is targeted at our subconscious minds.

That is why indoctrination is powered by repitition - and this is how our subconscious mind is impressed with an idea - evil or good.

This is also how advertising works.

The more you hear or see something over and over and over again, it becomes your second nature - it becomes your reality.

Religious leaders like the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses understand this power and they wield it perfectly.

Per the bolded part of your message…
1 John 2 v 26-27 is the antidote for false teachings.

26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.

27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
