I enabled it for less than 24 hours. I changed my service address in the early hours of this morning and it worked. Turned off portability immediately and sent a message to support that everything was working then closed the ticket. It’s been working fine all day.

Re: The Starlink Thread by IkoyiLagos: 7:12am On Mar 30
@Ibawon - Did you resolve to use any DSTV mount for your Starlink dish? I was wondering if anyone used a DSTV mounting pole or anything improvising close to it.
Re: The Starlink Thread by StarLinks: 8:11am On Mar 30
does all this really matter?
Re: The Starlink Thread by kodred(m): 9:57am On Mar 30
Hi did you go to their office as intended? How much is it? Is there an option to pay in naira at the office?
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 10:21am On Mar 30
IkoyiLagos:I could have, but I just mounted it on my roof
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 11:20am On Mar 30
kodred:Yeah, so I went to DHL's office day before yesterday and collected it. Though it looked used; it was dusty, dirty and all. But it's been performing well so far, no issues. I mounted it on my roof and view of the sky from there is 100%, no obstructions at all.
Concerning cost, it's been discussed severally on the Starlink's threads on here. It costs $587.93, and No, you can't pay with naira cards, only dollar denominated cards. If you don't have dollar card, you may sign up for a virtual dollar card, like PayDay, Chipper, Klasha. Starlink recommends PayDay though.
And No, you can only purchase Starlink through its website at https://www.starlink.com
Re: The Starlink Thread by kodred(m): 1:09pm On Mar 30
Thank you. I was thinking since there’s an office here, they can sell from the office and also collect naira just like other internet providers.
Re: The Starlink Thread by IkoyiLagos: 3:00pm On Mar 30

My phone and laptop can't see the 5ghz wifi but my ipad can even though all of them supports 5ghz
Re: The Starlink Thread by aieromon(m): 1:11pm On Mar 31
For the router, split the 2.4/5GHz network under advanced settings.
For the laptop, you need to go into driver manager settings and select the 5GHz band.

xristos:Thanks for the heads-up.. Gotten one already
Re: The Starlink Thread by oluwapoju(m): 7:20pm On Mar 31
With the help of google map, you can get the PLUSCODE address of your exact location. Copy and paste this in the location.
this will work
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 10:11pm On Mar 31
Already sorted. I used my coordinates.
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 11:24pm On Mar 31
So i installed my Starlink today. It was an herculean task. I had to employ the service of a roofer and rented Scaffold to climb the roof. He installed at the center of my flat roof and then bore a hole into my POP and passer the cable straight into our Master room. It's a mess but I'll have it maintained. Setting up was quick and then I did a speed test. I was getting between 18 - 25 mbps. Though I saw a message saying it's gathering data on obstruction (I have zero obstructions by the way) and will caliberate and speed might be better in 6 hours.
Later I went into the advanced speed test and got the below result. So now I'm confused with the 3 test results.
Direct test is 18 - 25mbps
WiFi Speed (Device to WiFi Router) is about 45mbps
Starlink Speed (Router to internet) is 200mbps
What's preventing me from accessing the Starlink speed on my device?
Re: The Starlink Thread by Stanley08(m): 11:51pm On Mar 31
Hmmnn... This would take 30 mins tops on my own Starlink
Re: The Starlink Thread by jedisco(m): 12:08am On Apr 01
The site it was downloaded from would also affect the download speed
Re: The Starlink Thread by Avatar(m): 12:50am On Apr 01
You can let it gather the data then see if there are obstructions. As long as it's mounted correctly, it should be good.
Re: The Starlink Thread by georgee(m): 8:22am On Apr 01
Abeg, who has used other Virtual USD service card asides Payday to order for Starlink
Payday is in a mess.. They sent a message that we should open another USD account that they are currently habit issues with their vendors blah blah and that our current balance would be transferred to the new USD account (I av about $62).
Now, I av opened another USD account since 4weeks ago and no response yet. Message I got was that they will get back to me when approved. I have chatted their agents 100 times, no solution
Now, I want to order for Starlink as and I don't want trouble or a situation where my naira will hang or won't be able to do monthly subscription
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 8:55am On Apr 01
It already finished gathering the data yesterday and there was no obstructions. But speed hadn't improved as at yesterday when I left the site. I'll go back today to check again.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 10:13am On Apr 01
georgee:I sent a message to their Oga (Favor) about this too. Over 3 weeks seff
Re: The Starlink Thread by racerve(m): 10:13am On Apr 01
The default WIFI network is 2.4GHz. Try creating a separate 5GHz network.
Go to Settings > WiFi configuration > Advanced and you'll see the option.
Re: The Starlink Thread by georgee(m): 10:18am On Apr 01
Na wa ooo... Cos i am now ready to order my starlink and ethernet adapter... I no want go throway money through Payday ooo
Re: The Starlink Thread by oluwapoju(m): 10:32am On Apr 01
georgee:Try out Bitnob. You can fund via USDC/USDT or bank transfer with naira-dollar rate is around 747.56
Re: The Starlink Thread by oluwapoju(m): 10:33am On Apr 01
toluxa1:Use speedtest or try downloading some files to know the actual speed
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 11:27am On Apr 01
toluxa1:The sky looks clear, so you shouldn't have any problem. Make sure to split the 2.4 and 5ghz setting.
For speedtest, use Ookla's speedtest.net app. It's more accurate than the Starlink's app speedtest.
Re: The Starlink Thread by georgee(m): 11:40am On Apr 01
oluwapoju:Will check it out and revert. Is this wat u used?
Re: The Starlink Thread by oluwapoju(m): 11:59am On Apr 01
georgee:Yeah, that was what i used for my last sub
Re: The Starlink Thread by Alienwarfare: 7:32pm On Apr 01
