georgee:I think dustmalik talked about this before and you you being debited $42 means you didn't input your address well. Make Baba show first

Eyin fans mi e ma gba mi
Starlink said I'm due to be charged. Mind you na 27th in fact 28th na him I begin use their service. I checked and It says they are not meant to charge till 30 days.
@dustmalik over to you my humble Sir.
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 7:14am On Apr 05
ibawon:You could try contacting their customer support and ask them to review the due date. Since they can see when it was shipped, they should be able to do something about it.
However, if were given the 1month free service like some us, I would advise you let it be.
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 8:55am On Apr 05
It actually starts counting sometime between the day the router is configured and they day it's shipped which shouldn't be more than 1-2 days apart.

dustmalik:I was never given. Opened a ticket awaiting their response
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 2:26pm On Apr 05
Following this gist. Because I suspect dem go soon send me email
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 2:38pm On Apr 05
seunpayne:I actually intend on paying for 4 months if they can take it straight, but this is kinda crazy
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 8:02pm On Apr 05
You can’t pay without an invoice. I don’t know that they have any offers on the service outside the monthly charge. Makes sense because they can increase the price anytime

It's raining heavy and I'm still streaming 4k UHD with no single buffer at 11mbps. Life is fine.
PS since I have gotten Starlink the only time I had slow speed for streaming was the first 20mins I just installed it.
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 11:11pm On Apr 08
ibawon:What app or service do you stream on?
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 9:28am On Apr 09
dustmalik:Netflix, Prime and TeaTV with steady torrent downloads my Boss.

I hope you're doing this with a reliable VPN like Surfshark turned on before you start having problems with Starlink. It's my understanding ISPs aren't favourably disposed to torrenting.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 12:30pm On Apr 09
CavendishPlex:Downloaded over 300gb worth of torrent and never had any issues. We are a 3rd worl country so I doubt it

Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 10:00pm On Apr 11
No think am oo. A few years ago I downloaded one movie that was still in the cinemas via torrent. A week later I got an email from the ISP that they got a report of illegal download of their movie from me the client (with the exact title of the movie stated) with plenty of threat of fine if it repeats itself. They said they will let it go because it was my first of such but subsequently, they will involve law enforcement bla bla bla. Since then I have been careful with torrents by making sure by VPN is always on. How they even got my email still beats me. How dey link the whole thing to my identity till today still baffles me.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 10:03pm On Apr 11
Abeg what ISP was this?
Re: The Starlink Thread by CavendishPlex: 10:25pm On Apr 11
It's easy! At the time you register with the ISP for their service, you supply an email address, phone number, physical address and some means of identification. So, reaching you isn't a difficult thing. It's the same way the long arms of the law catches up with those into nefarious activities over the internet.
Just use a reliable VPN and have peace of mind. It's Elon Musk's product you're dealing with here. Guy no get joy.
Re: The Starlink Thread by Bossman(m): 11:01pm On Apr 11
They got to you via your IP address. Your ISP linked your IP address to you via all the information you gave them when you registered for service.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 2:22pm On Apr 15
Got charged today for renewal, seems they wait for at least 2-3 days before billing your account.
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 9:53am On Apr 16
