Stanley08:what's this one saying? Is it a crime to do business? Is it an illegal business? So because elon musk owns starlink, a Nigerian cannot be in business of selling it? 🙄 Some people level of reasoning is flawed |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 9:47am On Feb 28 |
Mide337: Go and find work. Anybody that has the money can order Starlink themselves. NO DM ANYBODY FOR STARLINK OH! You may even run into complications if you don't buy from Starlink directly. Go to their website. Starlink.com You can pay using Virtual cards from apps like Payday, Chipper Cash & Gotok. DM ko, MD ni. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Starlink is currently about 270k-280k It's quite cheap for now , I think d price might go up soon

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 3:12pm On Feb 28 |
MrBiGGEST: Those figures are the website converting $43 & $600 to Naira because of your IP address showing you are in Nigeria. Naira cards will not work. And you need to use a dollar card or virtual cards from the apps I listed above which means the actual naira values are 32K+ & 450K+ depending on how much the fintech sells dollars to you. Cheers. 😊 1 Like |

dustmalik: Did you get yours yet? |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik: 6:27am On Mar 01 |
Stanley08:I did but the experience, so far, hasn't been the best. I hardly get 200Mbps down. I am not sure if it is my location, given that there are little obstructions around me and there is really no way of placing the dish any better. However, I do get certain outages that I am not sure if it's normal. Attached is a screenshot I took just now of the outages. Though i installed it yesterday night. Hopefully, it gets better overtime.

dustmalik: Rain disturbs Starlink just like DStv so that might have been the problem. 1 Like |

Stanley08:We haven't experienced rainfall in Abuja since Saturday. |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by seunpayne(m): 8:20am On Mar 01 |
dustmalik: Why are Abuja users having this issue? I saw two more on twitter yesterday. There is one MTNish behavior at play somewhere ooo |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik: 9:07am On Mar 01 |
seunpayne:😂😂😂 I am not sure why it is happening though. But I noticed I have only had one outage, which was less than a second, due to obstruction, for the past 43minutes since I rebooted the Starlink dish. So you might want to suggest to those users to reboot their Starlink, not the WiFi router. EDIT: Unfortunately, I am still having those outages. I need someone to confirm if this happens without rainfall or bad weather.

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik: 10:34am On Mar 01 |
ibawon:You will probably receive the Shipped notification within the next two days. I ordered on the 11th, received the notification on the 21st. The Starlink got to DHL's office in Abuja on the 24th, and delivered on the 27th. If I was residing in Lagos, I would gotten it on the 23rd. 1 Like |

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Galantis: 3:40pm On Mar 01 |
What are their data plans like? or is it unlimited monthly? |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 4:57pm On Mar 01 |
Galantis: $43 unlimited. Some say 1TB before throttle. Not sure it applies for Nigeria (yet). Also, off peak data doesn't count (11pm to 7am) |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 4:59pm On Mar 01 |
dustmalik: Anything here is normal. Plane passing na obstruction, bird flying na obstruction, nylon wey wind dey blow na obstruction. If it's less than a second, it doesn't really affect anything. I don't notice.

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 7:54am On Mar 03 |
dustmalik: Doubt it's a defective dish. Did it improve? |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik: 8:10am On Mar 03 |
Stanley08:No, it hasn't. I suspect the dish. The performance has been woeful as well. Getting 100Mbps is very difficult. I may have to open a complaint ticket very soon
