What is your worst experience so far during cash this scarcity?

I came back home with only #500 yesterday . I thought of buying red oil worth #200 to cook. I put the money in my jean pocket and strolled out. It's drizzling but I defied the rain because I was hungry. I got to the petty trader's shop and asked for oil.

The girl was tying up the oil when I put my hand in my pocket only to discover that the money was gone...it probably slipped out of my pocket. I just came back home and drank garri since my debit card wouldn't work.

I'm learning front end web dev. I have no issues with js basics for now. But CSS is just a bastar*.
I learnt it but to use the knowledge to clone a site is war.
That's what is holding me back.

It's isn't nice. Business has been slow since the scarcity started. Today I exhausted the last cash on me. Don't even know where the next one will come from. God over to you

😄 CSS isn't that hard na. infact I find it straightforward than the rest. Just know how padding, margins and borders work and also have a clear understanding of how Media Queries work & there's no site on earth you can clone.

Are media queries not used for responsiveness? Or they have other uses.

I understand box model very well but I still struggle to use it to build sites. Maybe I should learn a framework like tailwind.

As a frontend d3v, you should be able to clone sites by writing the code in your mind just by looking at it...

Yes media Queries are for responsiveness, but you have to understand what goes were within the media query. Like there are some features on the desktop version you can omit in the mobile version.

This is kinda stannge though, if you understand box model very well, you shouldn't be struggling with build or cloning sites. They are literally the cornerstone of making a website. I'd urge you to understand the raw CSS first before dabbing into frameworks.

How about your Grid and Flex box, do you have a perfect understanding of how they both work?.

Oh I get it about the media queries now.

I'm suspecting I'm trying to clone too advanced/complex sites for my beginner skillset. If you know any basic site I can clone for practice, please do show me.

I've learnt flex box and know how dey work. I only need to practice.
Grid is the next in line to learn.
After, I'm going to learn responsiveness.

Bro you just hit the nail on the head. As a front end developer you should be able to dissect and interpret a design with your head by just looking at it. By just looking at it you should be able to tell the margin, padding size, dimension etc...

And honestly, anybody who can't do this should just quit frontend.

I'll try this technique.

I felt Tailwind is an easier version of CSS grin

Go through my topics you'd see some of my works with HTML CSS and JavaScript, pick any one you fancy and try to replicate it.

But to be honest, without knowing responsiveness I doubt you'd be able to replicate any of my websites. Most basic sites are responsive so try and learn responsiveness first before trying to create or replicate any site.

Person get money but can't spend, it's #300 per thousand in my side. Some do accept transfer but no network
