My heart bleeds to see Nigerians tearing their passports. Please, if you're nuturing the thought to mutiliate your passport think about these:

1. You're actually hurting yourself because you paid for the passport you're about to tear. You're about to waste the value acquired through your hard-earned money.

2. Some of the passports you see people tearing online are actually the expired ones, so think twice before following suit. Please, don't join the bandwagon.

3. No country will accept your entry without the Nigeria Passport. Tearing your passport is in a way, you preventing yourself from leaving the country any time you wish.

4. Even if you're already abroad, you will be needing the passport or acquire a new one once your stay is expired. This is appkicable unless you're a dual citizen.

5. You are free to express your anger, but know that you can't by any inche change your place of birth which is Nigeria.

Please, do not lose hope in Nigeria. Let's hope for the very best of the just concluded election.

Some still keep it because they havent fully renounced their citizenship...the ones that have fully renounced it have nothing to lose...most of them will never return because they have relocated their loved ones

Lol. Some myopic few think the worst thing that can happen to a country is when there are agitations because of dissatisfaction. Rather, it is when majority of its productive population gives up on it. Believe me, many are in that state right now; they might not have passport to tear. To what end?
Well, it would mean lawlessness & Injustice would thrive and no one would do anything about it (she na your parents wan go protest?). Many would have given up the fight (for a better country) before it even began; the evil politicians win. You will serve them and their kids and nobody will join anyone in protest (e be things). We will rue the power we relinquished to the old forces in 2023, and the division we allowed them create amongst us. Those who have the means are already jumping ship.

When will you people stop deceiving yourselves?..no be so your parents talk that time? In this day and age we haven't let go of tribalism and you now think its overnight this country will change...if you can still say this after 62 years of independence and nothing to show for it then maybe you're even from another planet that has no idea of what hes saying

Tribalism is a good thing. Think seriously about it and you will find I'm correct. Have a good day.

It is a criminal offense to tear passport. .because despite the fact that you pay for it...it is.not.your property

If you doubt me check this part of immogration acct 2015

The Nigeria Immigration Act 2015, specifically in Section 10(1)(c) and (d), prohibits the alteration, mutilation, or destruction of a Nigerian passport. Any individual who contravenes this section of the law is guilty of an offense and can face a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to N1,000,000 (One Million Naira).

Therefore, it's crucial to keep your Nigerian passport safe and secure to avoid any legal repercussions.

So Nigeria immigration service should do their job...and stop hibernation.

Wat is the difference between tearing ur passport and passport that expired 10 years ago. Do u know to avoid deportation u need to destroy ur original documents. Those tearing passport are playing games, if u investigate u will see most hve not been to Nigeria for a long time
