During Brazil’s Carnival Festival 2023, they exhibited demons in the parade. Then the next day, a great storm devastated the nation. And many people are asking, “is Brazil facing the judgment or wrath of God?”

Demonic Depictions During Brazil’s Carnival Festival 2023

A video of Brazil’s recent carnival festival went viral because of the devastating storm that hit the country the following day. Apparently, during the carnival, the citizens showcased demonic depictions in the parade. In one video clip, the devil dragged and persecuted the man who played Jesus in the parade. Another clip also showed a huge man-made devil watched by thousands of crowd. Then the next day, a tragedy hit Brazil as they experienced the worst storm ever.

Now, some people are connecting the tragedy to the demonic activity that Brazil included in their carnival. They say that the great storm that brought chaos to Brazil the following day was God’s wrath for parading evil a day before. And the Real Gospel Chops content creator, Gerald, addressed the people’s query about it. He debunked people’s assumptions on the internet.

The Storm Is Not God’s Judgment

Gerald is hesitant to believe that the catastrophe that hit Brazil was God’s wrath. Apparently, it took the lives of hundreds of people.

“Correlation is not necessarily causation,” he stressed. Then the YouTuber explained that if that were the case, God would have already done the same to California.

“I live in California where people desecrate the image and the name of Christ as if it were sport,” he said. “And if California were to feel God’s wrath the way that this state [Brazil] deserves.. well this state will cease to exist!”

Gerald further sarcastically added that California would have to “fall off the map” and “fall off into the pacific ocean.” Because of how California turned its back on Christ.

In the end, the Christian content creator urged America to turn again and recommit to God.

I don't think the article is nonsense. It actually debunked the claim that the devastating flood was due to the carnival.

But the events, Timing and the flood doesn’t even correlate.

He is not the person who created the false story. You make it seem he is responsible for it. He has only reacted to it assuming it were true


The original content creator should be blamed for the misinformation


What's relevant here, is that he didn't foolishly believe, like other gullible Christians, that a god or God has punished a county with flood, whether the story is true or not.

I said the “article is nonsense” not “gerald reaction is nonsense”.
And gerald reaction is base on the nonsense article hence “correlation is not causation” even though there was NO correlation.

Gerald, himself, never confirmed the story to be true. I said he reacted ,either assuming it were true ,or he never got to know all of the facts as at the time .

It should not be judged as nonsense if someone were to react reasonable to a question based on a hypothetical situation. We all have done that at different times.

Besides, everyone now knows the story is not true, even Gerald at the moment.

So, I think you should rather focused more on his logical response , and not trying to desperately tie him to something he never started in order to condemn what he said. It's pointless.

One thing is clear from the Op. It was meant to present to the Christian community ,the informed and more reasonable position of respected Christian leader concerning the fake story or anything similar to it, hence the timeless advice, that 'correlation is not causation' in that particular instance.
