Congrat to them..

They’re Brazilians. They’re called *Nagos people of brazil* They’re well loved in Brazil. Infact, many others Brazilian extraction are fast learning their culture - Ifa,sango,Ogun etc.

Government gave them every liberty cuz of their good character and heritage. Their culture is one of the best and well respected culture in Brazil.

If you’re a Yoruba, Brazil is like your brotherly-hood. Their visa isn’t hard. No discrimination. Good foods, culture & nice atmospheric condition. It’s where you can go for vacation..

Let me add to what you just said. Yorùbá language is the 2nd official language in Brazil after Portuguese.

Depending on if you can speak Portuguese..

Brazil is even more good for if you’re an entrepreneur and if you have funds to establish. The laws are straight and not that strict..

Check this... First on arrival he met with the president, then he addressed their parliament, they agreed with him and then he confer the whatever title he wanted to...

Some people would have gone their to promote their rights and then started calling the place a no man's land... Imagine all the praises the Ooni showered on Brazil for helping his People flourish...

Na SW common sense dey live walahi

History had shown that Lateef Jakande was the first person to call Lagos-a no man's land when he was luring investors to come and invest in Lagos. History course FG excluded from educational curriculum is not helping this generation.

God bless the Yoruba nation.
Even when slavery tried to divide us, we still sourced our roots and reunited ourselves.
Indeed!

The vast waters of the Atlantic Ocean could not separate the
Yorubas of Fidel Castro's Cuba, Brazil, USA, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Haiti, etc, from the
Yorubas on Continental Africa.

Most Yorubas landed in the late 1700s and 1800s from those slave ships in Bahia State. So it is in that majority Black State of Bahia that Yoruba language and religion
is more pronounced not in the whole of Brazil.

I hope this helps.

If Yorubas including Obas can refer to their own children born in marriages between their sons and their Igbo wives as Omo Ale (Baztards) because of ordinary governorship and state Assembly elections then I think these Brazilians who are in another continent should move on with their lives and forget about any fake Orisa.

See this way...

As Yoruba you can marry anywhere you like, be it China, India or Abia it doesn't matter as long as you respect the yooruba culture and you're proud of it irrespective of your association with other culture.

There are many top Yorubas that are married outside Yorubaland and we don’t call them bustards e.g Adeleke (Davido's dad), Otedola (DJ cuppy's dad), Rotimi Akeredolu ( Ondo state governor).

Let me even shock you...Tinubu's wife .. Remi is not Yoruba... she's Itshekiri Delta state.

Gbadebo's past utterances were anti-yoruba and he was not even making efforts to denounce it...because of the support he was enjoying from the others idea.

With the current reality on ground.

If I be single igbo lady, I will just look for a cute, responsible Yorùbá guy to “force” myself on top & marry.

So I can make babies with him & ultimately bleach the stoopid igbo gene away from my system & also help secure my future & that of my unborn children’s children even to the end of time.

But I doubt if any right thinking, made Yorùbá man will go for those oloshhhoes.

I remember Brazilian Quarters in Lagos Island.

With food like,

Kanjika.
Mingau Tapioca
Feijao on Good Friday
Gurudi (Coconot Chips)

Also the Fanti Carnival.

How time flies.

To go Lagos Island now be like person wey dey find job for Island.
Did you grow up in the Brazilian Quarters of Lagos Island?

The Grammy Award winner, SEAL
Henry Olumide Samuel lived there before going back to London in
1979. He is of returnee Yoruba Brazilian descent.

Lagos Island needs massive gentrification though to draw more tourists from Diaspora Yoruba and non-Yoruba Hispanic communities in Cuba, Brazil, USA who have deep interests in Yoruba history, culture, and religion as seen on YouTube.

No I didn't. I grew up on the Mainland, but visited the Island a lot with my dad.

My father and his own father were born there and grew up there, maybe my Great Grandfather was born there too at a time Lagos was a place in West Africa without any Nigerian description.

@Throwback, that's awesome!

You are literally an Omo Eko (Lagos Island) based on your genealogy.

I have maternal family roots from Lagos Island too before 1900. A lot of history is embedded right there. I've read books on Lagos Island history from the pre-Colonial era to the post-Colonial era, but look forward to reading the one written by the cerebral Lagos lawyer Supo Shasore which is insightful based on the excerpts I've read.

All the best.
