Ramadan Fasting Is Of Pagan Origin! by advocatejare(m): 7:22pm On Mar 22 |
"Ramadan literally means ‘intense heat’, denoting the scorching summer month to which it was originally ascribed. It formed part of the pre-Islamic Arab calendar well before Islam came to Mecca, the holy city in today’s Saudi Arabia, in the seventh century." "Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the rigid observance of thirty days of fasting during the daylight hours, has pagan roots developed in India and the Middle East. The observance of fasting to honor the moon, and ending the fast when the moon’s crescent appears, was practiced with the rituals of the Eastern worshippers of the moon. Both Ibn al-Nadim and the Shahrastani tell us about al-Jandrikinieh, an Indian sect which began to fast when the moon disappeared and ended the fast with a great feast when the crescent reappeared. The Sabians, who were pagans in the Middle East, were identified with two groups, the Mandaeans and the Harranians." (the paper goes on to detail the Mandaeans) "The other group, considered as Sabians, were the Harranians. They worshipped Sin, the moon, as their main deity, but they also worshipped planets and other deities. The Sabians were in contact with Ahnaf, an Arabian group which Mohammed joined before claiming to be a prophet." "In Mecca, the Ahnaf were called Sabians because of the doctrines they embraced. Later, when Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, he was called a Sabian by the inhabitants of Mecca because they saw him performing many Sabian rites which included praying five times a day; performing several movements in prayer that were identical with the Mandaeans and the Harranians; and making ablution, or ceremonial washing, before each prayer. In the Qur'an, Mohammed called the Sabians “people of the book” like the Jews and Christians. Ramadan was a pagan ceremony practiced by the Sabians, whether they were Harranians or Sabians. From the writings of Abu Zanad, an Arabic writer from Iraq who lived around 747 A.D., we conclude that at least one Mandaean community located in northern Iraq observed Ramadan Ramadan was Originally an Annual Ritual Performed at the City of Harran. Although the fasting of Ramadan was practiced in pre-Islamic times by the pagans of Jahiliyah, it was introduced to Arabia by the Harranians. Harran was a city on the border between Syria and Iraq, very close to Asia Minor which, today, is Turkey. Their main deity was the moon, and in the worship of the moon, they conducted a major fast which lasted thirty days"... "It was during Ramadan that the very first revelation of the Quran occurred. This took place in 610 AD, when Muhammad retreated to a cave on Mount Hira on the outskirts of Mecca for secluded contemplation. In summary, the pagans were already fasting during the lunar month of Ramadan even before Muhammad was born, he only retained the tradition like he did other pagan traditions into islam. Many misinformed Christians including Reno Omokri who refer to other Christian practices as of pagan origins and condemn them, has come out today to encourage Christians to participate in this year’s Ramadan fasting which is also of pagan origin! Isn’t that hypocrisy? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Most doctrines about religions are pagan-inclined, it was all about refurbishing an old devotion and making it all look like another new devotion entirely. The greatest religion is MORALS and that isnt thought anywhere cos we all know what is good or evil without having to wait for a third party to tell us. 4 Likes |

Lukuluku69:1. None of those men went in to God's presence in the wilderness with a premade plan to fast while there. ![]() 2. As a matter of fact, apart from the 1-day fasting instituted in the Old Law on the 10th day of the 10th month, this was for the entire Nation of Israel in the Land of Canaan to be absolved of all their sins God. YHWH never commanded any other fasts in the Law of Moses. ![]() Christians who engage in Lent for instance instead engage in Pagan rituals as Jesus Christ never commanded any of His followers to engage in such starvation-diet fasts in His name. The kind of fasting in fact commanded by God is instead documented in Isaiah 58 and Zechariah 7 ![]() 1 Like |

Re: Ramadan Fasting Is Of Pagan Origin! by triple996(m): 5:35am On Mar 23 |
advocatejare:THE ramadan gotten from Serbian pagans part. Is like saying that since some pagans fast b4 Christianity then the Christians copied them, it's totally wrong. Firstly.... Muslims fast 4 allah that's d most important part though, we fast 4rm approximately 6 to 6. Am quit sure a lot of people all around the world with different religion also fast, right? The so called Serbian pagans were not the first people to engage in so called "fasting" Becus that's not what they themselves call it. Secondly ..... your translation of the holy quran is totally wrong. That verse about Christians,Jews and pegans(not serbians) was talking about how Allah will forgive you your sins the moment you become a Muslim irrespective of your former religion. The holy quran did not talk about Serbian in particular, it talks about pagans and all non Islamic religions. You are only trying to force Serbian pagans into the narrative to sell your theory. |

triple996:If it is a lie, in your opinion, what is the Religion of the Sabians? The Sabians worship the solar constellation. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabians Of course, prophet Mohammed didn't say that according to you Muslims, Allah himself said so: Quran 2:62 “Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans - those who believed in Allāh and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.” This is your Muslim translation. What else does it say? |

triple996: He has given you your exact Muslim translation. Over to you. If you're saying Allah was talking about Christians, Jews and Sabeans who converted to Islam, why didn't Allah say that exactly in that verse? Infact, the Important clause should be 'If they repent and convert ..' but no such clause was found. And if you think Allah was talking about islamized Christians, Jews and Serbeans as you posited, does that not mean that Allah has no plans for others who are neither Christians nor Jews nor Serbeans? 2 Likes |

Continue lying. Show your proof! advocatejare: So, Moses and Jesus and the Israelites that observe some sort of Fast did so on whose command? On their own volition? How you people think and reason is best left to imagination. When Jesus did 40 Days and 40 Nights Fast he was doing Yoga or on hunger strike abi? Same for Moses? And the Israelites? The Quran ask Muslims to Fast because those before them did and as such it is being prescribed for them now too. Unless you are admitting that Moses and Jesus were Pagans too. ![]() |
Re: Ramadan Fasting Is Of Pagan Origin! by Lukuluku69(m): 1:09pm On Mar 23 |
TenQ: The Month in which the Fasting/Fast is observed is known as Ramadan. I am sure when you open your Bible, you should know that the Israelites have a Lunar Calendar they follow and they Fast in a Particular Month too. The Fast is referenced with the month it is observed in hence "Ramadan Fast" meaning the fasting observe in Ramadan. As you will have come across, Muslims observe other Fasting across the Twelve Lunar months, but the one in the month of Ramadan is obligatory on them all. The reference only points to the month. Jesus and Moses and the Israelites all observed Fasting at some point in their life and history, does it mean they were Pagans too? Make una dey try engage your brain cells before una let out the hates in you small nah : ![]() |

Lukuluku69:Stop asking silly questions, if you have evidence that God ever gave a command that people should fast in the Bible, show it. People fast so seek the mercy of God there is nothing wrong with that, Esther told her people to fast too and many people in the Bible. But God never gave a command that people should choose a month to observe fasting! The one you’re doing in Islam is of pagan origin Yes they fasted on their own volition, if you have a contrary evidence, bring it out! Show where Jesus or Moses was commanded by God to fast Show us where God prescribed fasting for those before Muslims! You’re simply copying the pagan Sabeans ! 1 Like |

Lukuluku69:In scripture, it is explained that it wasn't that Jesus Christ intended to fast when He entered into the wilderness, led by the Spirit of God. 1. Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert. He was taken there to be tempted by the devil. It wasn't the case that food was available but He chose not to eat it. Instead, He was lead by the Spirit into the desert where there was no food to eat and He fasted for 40 days as a result of His being there that long. ![]() Scripture never states Jesus Christ planned and fasted for those 40 days. what is instead written is that He was led away by the Spirit of God and ended up fasting for 40 days and 40 nights in pretty much similar manner as Moses and Elisha, before Him, were - Exodus 34 vs 28 & 1 Kings 19 vs 7 - 14. ![]() As for the Israelites fasting when God never commanded such, Read Isaiah 58 and Zechariah 7 to find God's response to them. ![]() |

triple996: LOL, Muslims with Fabrications and Twisting of their own scriptures is 5&6. Muslims are the only religious faith that will re-interprete their scripture to duck tape various goofs Mohammed made for them. 1. The Arabic did not say the lies you've been fed by the translation. A screenshot is attached for you to see. I guess you saw the "WERE" (past tense) you are looking for. 2. Can you find a single Tafsir that AGREE with your desire for the elusive WERE in the Quranic verse? Ibn Kathir, Ibn Abbas, Al Qurtubi etc Or are you saying that your knowledge of the Qur'an surpasses these scholars? I'm wai------ting! LOL! It looks like you don't know me! I probably know more about Islam than your Imam! At least you now know that the Sabians worshipped the solar constilations. Why would they be admitted in paradise?
