NUMBER OF RAKA’AAT IN TARAWEEH PRAYER Question: Can I pray 10 raka’aat of Taraweeh in Ramadaan? Dr Sharof: If you pray 10 raka’aat, you should add 1 rak’ah of Witr or 3 raka’aat of Witr. There is no problem with that. There is the hadeeth that stated that the Prophet prays 11 raka’aat in Ramadaan or at times other than Ramadaan, another one stated 13 raka’aat in Ramadaan or at times other than Ramadaan.
