I met a very beautiful lady not to long ago. Our friendship is purely platonic (I haven't seen and don't have any intention of seeing and beyond her underwear). I find her attractive physically but have no feelings whatsoever (just to clear the reader). She always says she doesn't want kids. I'm thinking it's because she schooled abroad and their non-culture lifestyle there has entered her head. I was forced to ask if she had reproductive issues. She said no. Which African doesn't want kids? Can there be true happiness in a marital union without children?

Can you marry or date such a person who is very clear on not wanting offspring?

Is she a Nigerian?

If yes, ditch her and save your sanity.

The essence of marriage (especially with a Nigerian woman) is procreation.

Remove procreation, what are you doing with a woman in your home for the rest of your life?

God forbid shocked

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.

Genesis 9:7 comes to mind cool

many people out there dont want kids... or already have adult kids and dont want any more kids (thus this woman will be perfect for them)

think about it.. many people out there want kid but yet are NOT mentally/physically/financially fit to have any. i 'd rather someone not have kids than have kids that will turn out at street corners begging for their next meal, or worse!

OK, since she schooled abroad. I would be wary if it was a woman born and bred in Nigeria that said so. Few children, I can understand. Does not children? E get as be. Some probing needs to be done.

I was forced to ask if she had reproductive issues. She said no. Which African doesn't want kids? Can there be true happiness in a marital union without children?

As I said, I am sure some Africans who don't want children but have to keep their mouths shut or procreate because of society's demands. Yes, true happiness can be found in a marriage without children. Although having children is one of the reasons humans marry, it is not the sole criterion for happiness in a marriage. There is more to marriage than having children. The children no go grow old? Won't they leave to seek a living in other places? Like now, many Nigerian parents stay alone as their children don japa finish.

Can you marry or date such a person who is very clear on not wanting offspring?

For me, the jury is still out. I am not a fan of plenty children, but depending on events, I can be OK with having no offspring.

I'd rather have kids and no partner, rather than a partner without kids. Kids are my legacy. Partners can come and go.
