Practical Steps To Be A Good Muslim Even After Ramadan by hgnbello(m): 10:36am On Apr 22, 2023
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim,

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and may His peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions, and all those who follow his guidance until the Day of Judgment.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, as we bid farewell to the blessed month of Ramadan, we should not forget that the purpose of fasting and engaging in other acts of worship during this month is to increase our piety, strengthen our faith, and develop a closer relationship with Allah. We should strive to maintain the same level of devotion and spirituality even after Ramadan has ended. In today's sermon, I would like to remind us of some practical steps we can take to be good Muslims even after Ramadan.

Firstly, we should continue to perform our daily prayers on time, as this is the foundation of our faith. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The prayer is the pillar of the religion, and whoever leaves it, he has destroyed his religion" (Sunan Ibn Majah). Let us not allow the busyness of life to distract us from fulfilling this important obligation.

Secondly, we should strive to read the Quran regularly and reflect upon its meanings. The Quran is a source of guidance and light, and it is through its teachings that we can understand how to live our lives in accordance with Allah's will. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The best of you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it" (Sahih al-Bukhari). Let us make a habit of reading the Quran daily, even if it's just a few verses.

Thirdly, we should continue to give charity to those in need. The act of giving helps us to develop a sense of empathy and compassion for others, and it also purifies our wealth. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Charity does not decrease wealth" (Sahih Muslim). Let us look for opportunities to give, whether it's to a local charity or to someone in need.

Fourthly, we should strive to maintain good character and manners. Our behavior towards others should be guided by the principles of honesty, kindness, and respect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The best among you are those who have the best manners and character" (Sunan al-Tirmidhi). Let us be mindful of our words and actions, and strive to be a positive influence on those around us.

Finally, we should seek knowledge and continue to learn about our faith. The more we know about Islam, the better we can understand and implement its teachings in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim" (Sunan Ibn Majah). Let us make an effort to attend Islamic lectures, read books about Islam, and ask questions to deepen our understanding of our religion.

In conclusion, dear brothers and sisters, let us not let the end of Ramadan be the end of our devotion and spirituality. Rather, let us strive to maintain the same level of faith and commitment throughout the year, by performing our prayers, reading the Quran, giving charity, maintaining good character, and seeking knowledge. May Allah guide us all and bless us with success in this life and the hereafter.

Allahuma Ameen.

Of course, Ramadan is a great opportunity for Muslims to change themselves. People should pray every day even after Ramadan. I know that many people do not get time to pray but you have to make arrangements for it. If you do not pray every day then how you will follow the Sunnat of Prophet Muhammad? Apart from this, you should read Quran. For this, you can use online websites. Some special duas like iftar ki dua which are very useful in Ramadan should be memorized in advance.
