*TRUE LIFE STORY***
Let's call them Jide & Aisha.....

They met in the University,100 Level & began a serious relationship thereafter.
While in the 200L, One thing led to another & Aisha got pregnant.
Jide was scared & very unhappy about this sudden unexpected occurrence in their hitherto blossoming relationship, which almost everyone who knew them agreed, was heading to the altar.

Jide withdrew into his shell & seems to avoid Aisha at every given opportunity.
The hand writing was slowly and steadily appearing on the wall- their relationship fell apart.
Jide denied ever having anything to do with the pregnancy, let alone their seemingly cozy relationship.
It later turned out his parents were not in support of the relationship & never wanted any entanglement between their beloved son & someone they termed "a street girl" desperate to tie down their son with pregnancy.


As expected when issues like this surface, the loser feels the pain-Aisha was heartbroken & depressed.
Her studies became a secondary issue, she lost interest in pursuing her undergraduate program.

She had to drop out of school......

Her parents stood by her & supported her through out this distressful experience, not minding that they were looking up to her with high hopes and expectations,to do very well in school.

Eventually she put to bed a cute Prince.
Her parents were happy with this development, at least,all was not lost.
No word or Compliments from Jide,who it seems was a distant memory in the farthest recess of Aisha's mind

Three years later, Aisha went back to school and resumed her studies..... her child was in the care of her ever loving, supportive parents.

She eventually graduated with very good grades which really pleased her well meaning parents.
Her son was doing fine and growing up fast.

Fast forward to 10 years later, after the love debacle on campus.......

Aisha received a phone call from an unknown number.
The caller introduced himself, suddenly the link went off.
She disconnected the call.........

"Who does he think he is?"How come he got my number? From whom? How dare he call my line?"

One week, 3 weeks, one month, 4 months.... No matter how he tried, the link was blocked.

Jide had relocated outside the shores of the country after his national mandatory service in search of greener pastures.
He was doing fine with a well paid job and was married 5 years back..
But he was childless, it's a nagging issue on the home front.
He had looked forward to hearing the sounds and noises of kids in his home but sadly it wasn't the case.
Prior to his marriage to Daisy , series of tests had certified Jide & his love bird as medically fertile without any problems whatsoever........

Jide's concerted efforts to reach out to Aisha were rebuffed.
As far as she was concerned,Jide simply didn't exist and she had no need to connect with someone she felt has never existed, after he broke her heart.
It was a balm to nub her pains,so she thought, but some memories can't be washed away....

After several abortive attempts,he confided to his parents & friends back home about his pains and frustrations, reaching out to his jilted ex, Aisha.

7 months later, Aisha's Father ,Dr Ojo Adeyemi, received a phone call from his best friend in high school,St Finbarr's ,Akoka- Yaba, Barrister Uche Okolo, their friendship had been nurtured for over 3 decades but the issue on hand wasn't as straight forward as their friendship........

Four years would pass by with lots of brick bats, threats and counter threats before Chief Gbenga Bello, Jide's business tycoon Father & Dr Oni Adeyemi would reach a compromise to have a dialogue and settle the vexacious issue that set both their families on collision course.


To cut this true life story short, the two contending families agreed on DNA tests.
The DNA results confirmed Jide's paternity of the 9 years old daughter he had never set his sights on & was overwhelmed with emotion.
Even his parents couldn't hold back the tears when they beheld their princely looking grand son for the first time, after 14 years.

The families also resolved to cede custody of the teen-age son to Aisha until completion of his post primary schooling, but would travel to join his Father abroad during school vacation.
Then, continue his education overseas.
Jide felt as if he was reborn,he had never been this happier all his life.

Post Script
Guess what?
Daisy Henry-Bello, ( Jide's mulatto born wife of Nigerian-French heritage), was an expectant mother,4 months after her spouse had reconciled with the mother of his love child.
Today,Jide Adeyemi is still happily married to Daisy
with children of their own, aside Ayo.

Ayo Adeyemi Bello, Jide's love child lives abroad with his Father,Jide Bello.

Aisha Adeyemi found love again and is happily married with children.
