Eternity Is Greediness. by Maynman: 2:24pm On May 06, 2023
The Concept of Eternity has long captivated human imagination. The idea of living forever has been explored in Literature, Philosophy, and Religion throughout history.
However, as the oldest story of Humanity, "The Epic of Gilgamesh," reveals, the desire for Eternal Life can be seen as a form of Greed.

King Gilgamesh, the protagonist of the Epic, is a powerful and arrogant ruler who is feared and respected by his subjects. However, when his best friend Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh is forced to confront his own mortality. Faced with the prospect of death, he embarks on a quest for Eternal Life. Gilgamesh's journey takes him to the ends of the earth, where he encounters various obstacles and challenges. Eventually, he realizes that his quest for Eternity is futile and that he must accept his own mortality.

The story of Gilgamesh illustrates the danger of greed and the desire for Eternal Life. Gilgamesh's obsession with Immortality blinds him to the beauty of life and the importance of cherishing the time we have. His quest for Eternal Life is ultimately a futile one, and he comes to understand that death is an inevitable part of the human experience.

The desire for Eternal Life can be seen as a form of Greed because it is a desire for more than what is natural and necessary. It is a desire to extend our existence beyond its natural limits and to avoid the inevitability of death. While it is natural to want to extend our lives and to enjoy the things we love for as long as possible, the desire for eternal life can become an obsession that leads to a neglect of our responsibilities and a disregard for others.

Furthermore, the concept of Eternal Life raises important questions about the meaning and purpose of life. If we were to live forever, what would we do with all that time? Would life lose its value if it were never-ending? How would we find meaning and purpose in an existence that never ends? These are challenging questions that require careful consideration.

As Robert Heinlein notes, "Millions who yearn for Eternity don't know what to do with themselves Sunday afternoons.”

The desire for Eternal Life is often fueled by a fear of death, but it is important to remember that death is a natural part of life. Instead of obsessing over the desire for eternal life, we should focus on living our lives to the fullest and cherishing the time we have with our families, friends and making the most of the time we have. While the concept of Eternal Life may seem attractive, it is important to recognize the potential downsides of such an existence.

It seems to me that those who desire to live forever have not thoroughly considered the implications of such an existence.
How many times can one express gratitude and Praise to a Deity for avoiding damnation/hell before the significance of it all begins to fade?

A thousand years with good health and hard erection is okay for me in this body.

That is not too much to ask brother God.

A general purpose intelligence transformer with Large Living Language Models(LLM) are capable of self updates and when integrated to a neuromorphic robot, hosted on a cloud running of quantum server farm and powered by the sun is capable of existence for as long as the hardware survive.

The death of hardwares can be overcomed by using distributed server system of nodes, and will gain sentience as the LLM updates to a level of collective intelligence and sentience of the nodes.

Eternal Life requires so much but existing for a few millions of years is quite possible, connecting the brain-machine interface and constantly updating from quantum cloud LLMs and shifting consciosness between self and the robotic self until the robot build becomes capable of our human level morphology.

Alternative is to master consciousness transfer as our fore-fathers used to do, and go near a maternity ward to transfer consciousness into a brand new body to continue living, but to handle memory transfer is the issue, cos memory is cellular, and transferring cellular memory is easier cloning clones.

Third-option is cloning yourself and using consciousness transfer to move from one body to the next. This is possible today.

Brother, I only have heard of consciousness transfer, but even that still eludes us at this stage. Clone Tech is improving by the day, with many willing lab rats looking for what they didn't lose.

When people are arguing and quarrelling about transgenders, the research of how to improve our evolution will continue until we get to a stage where our physical follow-come bodies can be abandoned at will, to be replaced with something more durable and long lasting.

Yet, I agree with Maynman, ETERNITY is a pipe dream and only greedy and clueless people will spend supposed valuable time pining for that. They're not really any different from thiose who go under the knife just to look like the eediots they thought they could look like..lols

Even the long lived suns can die. Humans ehn, their wahala and wants are endless and with no limits.

Oftentimes , the price for intelligence is foolishness. If you know, you know.

Maynman, my guy. I no dey always like your talk even if you speak my mind sometimes...

It's not good for a tree to be overly straight.. shocked Crookedness is good and fair... shocked
This I've learnt as I grow older.

It's normal for those who possess awareness to want to retain that awareness for as long as they could, especially if it's within their powers.. As for me, I'm aware of my mortality that's why I only care about experiencing as much as I could as long as it depends on me. Make jaiye jaiye no finish me.. grin grin cheesy . Those church boys go come fire me for this kind of talk later... grin cheesy

Matter has always loved Matter. cool

And don't mind Mr. Robert. Saying Sunday Afternoons shows he has a group he's targeting in mind. How about those Ndi Naku Isi Na Ala? undecided shocked

Well, I like that you're among those calling people out to the futileness of their pursuit. The JW people will have your head for this. Na their business you wan spoil so. Before I forget, the JW's don invite this ancestor again for their program at Badagry. I have my suspects for the frequent invites.

I'll honor the invitation as I always do each time I'm invited, I no dey use gatherings where food and drinks plenty play at all. cheesy

If we knew how to live forever, we will not be standing up from bed all day. But in order figure out living eternally, we need more than the 70 yrs allocated by our Designer Ancestors.

That being said, Consciousness Transfer is happening in the villages and has been happening in the past. My ancestors, not more than 6 generations ago could transfer consciousness to even animals. My forefather when he breath his last, his spirit animal being a Lion was jumping across the fences of our compound, so I am told.

My father in law has a story of an elder in the village, his uncle who warned that his grand child that has just been born can not visit him until he dies, cos the moment he sets his eyes on the boy, he will die. The reason being that he split his consciousness to his daughter's womb when she was pregnant and the child carries his soul. After he died not long ago, that was the time the grandchild had to be brought to his home.

That is not the shocking part, the shocking part his that he has already reincarnated into the family, now there are 2 souls of the man, running on two different bodies. These kids are alive now, and this story is real.

My second daughter is my mother in law's soul. It will take longer typing to explain how we knew.\\

We are actually living forever, just that we are changing bodies and the memories of our past lives are in our DNA.

In order to retain cellular memory in our designated organism, we can build digital super intelligent AGI, and transfer our memory via BMI (Brain Machine Interface) into the AGI LLM robot and then survive as a robot, then clone ourselves so that when we drop this body, we can install our old cellular memory by uploading the data from our AGI using neurallink or any BMI of choice.

Digital immortality is possible, but spirito-biological existence has to be based on our Ancient Ancestors Strategy.

I call them the eternal suckers, they are always open to a con game.
When they find out that there’s really not much of a future and that you are going to die, they transpose the trickery into a “spiritual dimension”, and they figure this material world is not the real world, but the spirit world is the real world, and there will be somewhere somehow an eternal life for me.
And you say to them what are you gonna do there , i mean it’s like been in church/mosque/temple forever.
