Most of Nigeria's oil comes from the ocean, it just happens the Niger Delta is closer to the oceanic oilfields than non-coastal cities or places like Lagos. If you remove ocean oil from the count you will see that it's mainly River State and Imo State that is housing the ground based 'our oil' so-called that's from that region.

People are complaining that there's a refinery in Lagos, which is backwards thinking. For one, the refinery in Lagos can source crude of anywhere crude is mined. I can refine Nigerian ocean crude, it can refine Russian crude, it can refine Saudi crude. But if it was to drill Nigerian oil, Lagos has equal claim on Nigeria's oceanic oil and the needless jealousy should stop.

A long time a go a northern leader said that oil belonged to the North because ocean water is allocated based on a country's landmass and the North provides most of Nigeria's landmass. As much as you don't want to hear it, the man was correct if we want to use 'my oil' mentality. But that's not how oil or any resource works. There is oil drilled from the ground in the Niger Delta, but the same applies for Lagos, so again, stop the hate.

Kudo to the ppl of Lagos, Dangote and Africa as a whole.

Proximity to the sea ports is key.. easy shipping of products to other countries for sale.

Sizeable amount of Nigerian crude is located in Niger Delta no doubt, but we have deposits in other regions too including South East. The ones in Lagos will require deep offshore exploration as against the near shore and onshore exploration in Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom etc.

Please, this is your opinion, the on shore and off shore dichotomy has been ruled on by the Supreme Court, Nigeria is a Federal country anything 200 nautical miles from the shores belongs to the states.

THIS KIND OF CARELESS WRITE UP WOULD ONLY PROVOKE AGITATION FOR RESTRUCTURING NIGERIA AND RESOURCE CONTROL.

OUR FORESIGHTED COLONIAL MASTERS BEQUEATHED REGIONAL STRUCTURE AFTER TAKING COGNIZANCE OF OUR IRRECONCILABLE DIVERSITIES AND GREED.

UNDOUBTEDLY WE MUST REVERT TO THE FACTORY SETTING OF NIGERIA (REGIONAL STRUCTURE)

THIS PARASITIC FEEDING BOTTLE ECONOMY IS NO LONGER SUSTAINABLE.

It is international convention, not something determined by 'the supreme court'. The Supreme court interprets the constitution, which has nothing to do with oil.

Anyone who complains about refinery in Lagos should go and build one in his state. After all, a private investor built the refinery in Lagos.

am so sorry, I never knew I was quoting the chief prosecutor at the Hague...

When they tell you guys to go to school and you refuse, you are free to display online anyhow you like.
What has international convention got to do with composition of a Nation or form of government, I bet you have no idea the difference between a Federation, Co federation,
Unitary,System of government.
So the Supreme Court Made a pronouncements on oil and you still saying it has nothing to do with oil, what did it have anything to do with sand?

Oga quote me from now till thy kingdom comes i wont answer you, because you just displayed your level of reasoning, and I don't think you can afford my time.. Shalom.
