Good day everyone, I have this attitude I don't know if it's Normal, but people around me always believe there's something wrong with me whenever I made a statement I hate Yorubas while I'm Yoruba myself.
Here is the problem, after my secondary school,I left my region to Northern region, I'm previledge to associate with almost every tribe in Nigeria, I've never see the worse and terrible tribe in Nigeria in terms of showing little kindness to people In need like Yorubas, they will give you a very important reason why they can't help you in difficult situations. Needing help is not only giving to poor. A Rich man can need help in an isolated place like ones car broken down, or you see someone fell need help to stand, just randomly little assistance. But my Yoruba fellow won't do you any help without a price, some will even want you to worship them before they can help you. As it's widely believe Igbo love money, from my experience, there alots of benefits you can get be around Igbo people, they can show you road to success with a little price, if Hausa man decide to help you, he will do it with no strings attached but you see Yoruba so ehn, to help themselves sef is a very difficult task for them. Especially christians are the worse. For example, I wrote Jamb for 7years before I got admitted to University. All these 7years, none of my scores bellow 200, but it's either it remains just 2points to meet the cutoff point for my choice of course try everything possible even a professor in your church will never help, the one that try to help will either discouraged by thier wife. The last Jamb I wrote, I decided to choose University of Maiduguri when I don't even know Maiduguri location on the map. The man who helped me to secure admission to faculty of Engineering was a Hausa man a Muslim on VC's list. He never ask for my tribe/religion nor a cash price. Infact till today 14years after my graduation I only met him once. The day I submitted my CV to him and the day I return to thank him with just a bottle wine. My Yoruba? It's rare. Over time I tried to change my orientation about Yorubas for me to see them as brothers and appreciate them Boom the worse happen this morning that I'm very bitter about. I traveled home last month and I somehow forgot my main alert MTN sim card, I sent a bike man to take give it to a driver at the bus pack to deliver it to me in Abuja from Osun state all for the driver my main dialect man who speaks my direct language to tell me he will collect #8,000 to bring a SIM card for me in Abuja from ilesha in Osun state. Yes you ear that! #8k to transport a sim car. I thought he was joking untill he bang phone on me saying the last amount he will collect is #5k. I jejely went to MTN office to retrieve my sim at #500. What pain me most was I was begging this man to help me with #1k, he refused. I can bet with my experience with other tribes, such treatment is mostly peculiar to Yorubas, even in business, they will tell you you 1000 reasons why you have to pay mare whereas you can get it cheaper cheaper in Hausa man or Igbo man shops, you will think hausas are backward, that's not true, Southwest region are the most backward region in Nigeria because the people there refused to help one another

Anybody who just dislikes an entire ethnic nationality of millions of people based on whatever rubbish stereotype or stereotypes is a simpleton.

I don't even know what to say to anyone who publicly proclaims that he hates his own people.

Every ethnic group in Nigeria have their percularity largely gotten from their value system .

Yoruba and Hausa are hospitable but the Igbos are not.

The hausas are religious fanatics but the Igbos and yorubas are not.

Yorubas are back biters in nature but Hausa and Igbos are not.

The list continues, you do no choose your tribe or your parents.Some of the characters you are complaining about are also inherent in you without you knowing.

Learn to echew love and tolerance with your people and strangers alike.There is no place like home, east, west, north and south, home is the best.

You've summarized the issue perfectly. The same intellectual limitations forcing the OP to take the JAMB all of 7 times are clearly to blame for his hasty generalization of his limited personal experiences to cover tens of millions of people - and that's assuming he's even Yoruba in the first place, rather than yet another troll looking to stir up tribalistic strife.

While you are free to air your opinion, try and respect his. Nice people are very scarce among the ibos sha.
