Chondrosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that develops from cartilage, the tissue that cushions joints and covers the ends of bones. It is the second most common type of bone cancer in dogs, after osteosarcoma.

Chondrosarcoma can occur in any bone in the body, but it is most common in the ribs, pelvis, and long bones of the legs. It is more common in older dogs, with a median age of diagnosis of 8 years old.
