I getting only 12.7mpg on my benz c230 2006. That is approximately 5.38 km/liter.
This is quite very low. How can I fix this issue? I have a check engine light on my dashboard. I expect the car to be getting 20Mpg or above for city

You have bad spark plugs. I'm sure scanner will jump to knock sensor(misfires). What controls your mpg are 3 things. 1..spark plugs,2 maf sensor,3, catalyst....check those 3.

Thanks man. Took it to the mechanic and we found one of the spark plugs is bad. It's even broken inside the engine. They're trying to remove it and fix a new one. Hopefully, I'd get a good mog after that

Most filling station is not selling correct litre as a result you have to factor that too, bad oil. Bad fuel and carr age etc. If manufacturer states 20mpg and you are getting Anything near 17/18 is fair.

Add oil treatment to you oil. Buy injector cleaner in your fuel tank. Test it again
