Good day nairalanders, After my Nysc in 2021, I started a Pos business that has been very profitable and gives me a maximum profit of 10k and a minimum profit of 6k a day, l Carter for all my bills and live well... The major issue is that my mother keep emphasizing on getting a job and doesn't for once regard this business as anything.. I have try to make her see reasons but she just choose to remain adamant,, how many of this so called jobs can pay me what this business is paying me? how can l convince my mother that l want to expand my business and marry without so much emphasis on job here and there l am tired abeg... |

She’s not interested in whatever you make from the POS She just wants to be a proud mom who’s daughter graduated and got a white collar job than having graduate daughter who’s doing POS with random people that hasn’t been to the four walls of a university To her she wasted money training you in school She for kuku use the money start POS for you from day one That’s how she’s reasoning it Country hard my sister it’s even better you chose to be self employed than doing olosho Just pray to have an understanding boyfriend that would turn you to a wife then you leave and enlarge your business just like you said 3 Likes |

Yes it's not a job but a small venture but if strategiclly situated and managed you can explore and invest into other more sustainable ventures. The massage she is trying to pass is that you shouldn't settle or get relaxed with that POS stuff. Yes the fund you are getting from it might be okay at the moment but the biz isn't sustainable as govt policy can drag it to extinction. victooman: So long as it's paying your bills stick with it but make sure that you start early to invest your profits in good assets and possible expansion of the business to include other services. All it takes is just one government policy or a new innovation in the tech world to knock off POS business, bear in mind that there was a time when people were making a lot of money from business call centres and cybercafes therefore you need to be pro active and think of the future 4 Likes |

The answer to the issue is simple. Double your hustle and prove her wrong. My father once cried that I wasn't able to secure a job after training me in school. My elder brother was not doing so well in business too. When I told him I wanted to start a building contractor firm, he advised that I kept searching for good job that one day God would bless me. Today, he is happy I didn't listen to his advice. Prove them wrong brother and see them sing a new song. You see that your POS business, package am well and diversify as well. If not that I know myself well, I would be thinking I did money ritual in my dreams but whenever I remember the degree of my hustle, I get rest of mind. This life is not too hard, just stay your lane and hustle without minding where your mates currently are or what people are saying.
