I know u're not happy thats why u are outbursting ya thoughts...
Guy, relaxe u can still make it in the list cos its so impossible for NN
to only shortlist 39 instead of the usual 120, just have faith till the
end.....
Also, who told u that u cant raise above warrant officer?.....dont be
misinformed, u can raise above captain, it all depends on your
qualification.....if some of Your mate are going for courses and u chose
to remain without upgrading urself with certificate, how do u expect to
be promoted when the year of promotion comes
Guy, ma Aunt is a lieutenant-commander that's a (commission-officer) she
was recruited with o'level but she upgraded her self.
I've heard abt an officer that started with the rank of O.S but now he
is an Admiral,
Don't limit yourself, you can be what u want to be only if the zeal is
in you.
Though its not everybody that'll become a "commission-officer" bt its
possible.
It is not possible for any non-commissioned personnel to rise to the rank of Admiral, and its not possible for a commissioned officer that is commissioned through DSSC to rise to Admiral..The highest rank attainable for those categories aforementioned is Commodore (one star general)

The rank of Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral and Admiral is highly and exclusively reserved for those that attends the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

I'm glad we now have an officer in the house. My question is, if one gets picked via the normal recruitment, is it possible for one to apply for school? Or are there naval schools that issue equivalent degree certificates to new officials?

If u further ur education and obtain a degree in the service, u will excel..And ur loyalty to ur commanding officer and ur social life is also an added advantage.

owk..... But i have a family-friend that is like an uncle to me,...... He was a non-commisioned officer (as-in, he started from Enugu-ssce-recruitment center during the late 80s) i dont know what or which course he later went for but right now he is an Admiral.

The only Admiral in the NN today, who also doubles as the only 4 star general in the Nigerian Armed Forces is Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim, the CDS..Though,I stand to be corrected, but am 99.99% sure.

Well, is ezeoba the CNS not a real admiral? Who knows, his uncle may be Ola Ibrahim now , and please are you an officer of the NN ni? If yes, do you have any info about the recruitment list?

with this comment, i dont need to ask if your are a naval-personel.... Its cristal-clear!!!.
Anyway....the current past chief of naval staff is Ola sa'ad Ibrahim but now the CDS....while Dele J. Ezeoba is the current chief of naval staff...... Point of correction, there are other admirals (officers) in the navy occupying these positions:
#rear Admiral
#Admiral
#vice Admiral.
(in other news) its certain that the final list of names for the nnbts will be release this August.

Admiral Dele J. Ezeoba is a Vice Admiral..Just like in NA, we have Brigadier General,Major General,Lieutenant General and General..But civilians don't know the difference,so they refer to them as General for short.

well all that aside, If someone join via information tech category, what will he be doing? Will they get to go on ship?

Oga please don't be offended, but I'll like to know who this is on the picture there, this image was taken by me in Nigerian here last year and the rank insignia is that of an admiral. So I want to know if there has been any other admiral except our godfather(CDS)Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim.

I believe he is not with the Nigerian Navy, I think he is from Another country or in the Airforce

Re: The Nigerian Navy Screening List (NNBTS Training) Batch-23/24 by LittleJAMES(m): 2:41am On Aug 04, 2013
For those of us who want to know the ranks of the Nigerian Armed Forces both COs(commissioned Officers) and NON-COs(Non commissioned Officers) should request for it and I'll send it to them personally.
Re: The Nigerian Navy Screening List (NNBTS Training) Batch-23/24 by LittleJAMES(m): 2:47am On Aug 04, 2013
The first picture is Admiral. Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim when he was still a vice. Admiral, last year.

while the 2nd and 3rd is our CNS Vice Admiral. Dele Ezeoba Joseph currently.
