Can you confirm if its a "Bluetooth Keyboard" or a "Wireless Keyboard"? Perhaps if you provide the model number, we could look it up for you.

If its the former, then all you need to do it connect via bluetooth to it without need for a "receiver". I haven't seen a keyboard that connects over wifi though.

Thanks chief, actually its a Logitech wireless key board, you know just like you have a wireless mouse. you plug the receiver to the laptop usb port before connecting the keyboard to the receiver via wireless , using the connect button on the keyboard. So presently I have the keyboard but I don't have the wireless receiver that came with it so I will like to know if its also possible to use this keyboard with any other branded wireless receiver dongle or I must use it with the wireless receiver that came wit it...Thanks..

I doubt if you could use it with another dongle...even if its from the same brand, logictech. I stand to be corrected, but I feel the keyboard is paired to a specified receiver from factory. Dunno if it can be re-paired.

logitech dongles are hardware specific which means u need to order from 'abroad'

if you're lucky, the dongle required is a 'unifying receiver'. this is a dongle which can work with up to 4 or is it 6 devices at a time. my trackball and performance mx both use a unifying recievers, so when one receiver went bad, i just pulled out the receiever for the other. that receiver went bad two months ago, so i had to run about shops looking for a logitech device that came with a unifying receiever. i was lucky enough to get one. if you order a logitech mouse , keyboard etc,its always a good idea to get a spare receiver.
