"god Does Not Change His Mind" How Do We Know This For Sure? by Softee(f): 2:10am On Jul 28, 2006
We as men are made in Gods image spiritually (And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness). So that means he thinks, speaks, imagines etc,

Now many muslims question and critisise how can the God in the old testament change his mind and send Jesus down to contradict it. But my concern is, who are we as man to say God did not change his mind?

Please People correct me if i am wrong, for God corrects those he loves! grin

Also, a friend once told me Jesus did not come to change/contradict the old testament he came to fulfil it.

IGNORE THIS THREAD!!! LOL

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO NOT READ YOUR BIBLE PROPERLY. GOD CORRECTED ME FOR HIMSELF. I HAVE JUST READ A VERSE!!!!!!

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

GOD SAID HE DOSEN'T CHANGE HIS MIND, FELLOW CHRISTIANS SHED LIGHT PLEASE BECAUSE WE KNOW OUR MESSIAH IS LORD FOR ALL THE THINGS HE HAS SHOWN US BUT ITS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND AS A BABY CHRISTIAN!  wink

Dear softee, without the Holy Ghost to shed abroad His spirit in our hearts, even we the elect would be decieved. It is indeed true that the bible says we cannot by searching (logical analysis) find God.

How do you reconcile these scriptures? Matt 10: 34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her motherinlaw—
36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[e]

Is this not the same Christ who tells us in 1 John that He is the Prince of Peace? Could He be accused of double speak? God Forbid! John 12: 40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Indeed God does not lie, His word does not return unto Him void without accomplishing that for which it was sent. He remains true to His people and is willing to guide us in His truth.

God never changes His mind because He knows the end from the begining.

Well Sofftee God just answered your question Himself through scripture.
You know that is the best way that God speaks to His children, so whenevr you are in doubt
turn to the bible you will find your answers.

God bless

What does the expression "to change one's mind"? Is a change of mind typically followed by one or more of the following emotional states;

1) Regret
2) Elation
3) Disappointment
4) Enthusiasm

Consider the creation narrative, in which god creates Adam and for several days allows Adam to look for a mate amongst the animals;

Genesis 2:

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Was Adam really made to look for a helper from amongst the animals? Was there any chance of him finding a mate amongst the animals. Was the creation of woman, Eve, an afterthought, a change of mind?

In fact, can god be said to have a mind? If so, where is it housed?
