Good afternoon all, i am currently studying in the uk and i have misplaced my nigerian passport also i am due to travel back home next month.
i was wondering how do i go about getting a new one along with the visa in time if that is possible.....how long it will take and how much it would cost...thank you

Have you reported it to the police?

Were you given a report? If yes then use that to get an Emergency Travel Certificate from Nigerian embassy because getting another passport within a month there is almost impossible. You also need to notify the UKBA about the visa so that when you get to Nigeria, get another passport you can contact the embassy for visa reissuing.

You need to make a photocopy of the police report and the Emergency Travel Certificate because the original of those documents will be taken away from you at the embassy and the airport in Nigeria

well if it takes more than a month, i might postpone the trip, however how do i go about getting a new passport here in london, i dont really understand the embassy website

They do that is the whole essence of reporting it to the police.

Applying for another passport through Nigerian embassy website is not difficult i renewed mine couple of months ago as i don't want to apply for visa when visiting Nigeria.

Log on to their website, apply and pay for it then printout the payment receipt, you will be given an apportionment date when you will take those documents + £20 worth of postal order to the embassy for submission and biometric.

I applied for a renewal passport in November last year, and I was promised thar it would be ready in January.

It was indeed ready, and poster to me via the prepaid Royal Mail registered envelope I provided but unfortunately, Royal Mail has lost the passport.
It showed that the high commission delivered to Royal Mail, but Royal Mail could not account for it.

I now want to apply for a fresh passport in Nigeria but I was told I need a police report and sworn affidavit in court.
Unfortunately, Police don't give reports for lost passport anymore in UK.

Any suggestions on how to go about this?
