The search for the 2019 Indomie heroes is ongoing. It is the 12th edition of the Indomie Independence Day Award (IIDA) for Heroes in Nigeria. The Award is for the three most heroic stories of children across the Physical, social and intellectual bravery category. Furthermore, It seeks to recognise the courage of children in making life better for their families, society or country at large. IIDA 2019 comes with a financial benefit of N1 million naira in scholarship to the Awardees. Consequently, easing the burdens of their parents or guardians.

Background on the Heroes Award
Indomie Heroes Award was set up as a way to discover, groom and recognise children of great virtue and value to the country. The initiative was established in 2008 and has since gained a lot of public awareness. The meritorious act of children, who have shown determination in the face of terror and discouragement have been brought to limelight ever since then. Thus, making them models for others.


Indomie Independence day Award holds as a national event which has witnessed participation from the six Geo-political zones,. The event takes place in October to mark the Nigeria Independence. since, Nigeria got its independence on October 1960. It has rewarded about 40 Heroic children with scholarship and other donations since inception.

Why you should apply for the Heroes Award
Take a look around your community; Children are doing extraordinary things in their way. Some are selfless, helping others to live a better life. The act of heroism could be physical, social or intellectual. The Award is an opportunity for recognition and financial help to the children you have noticed, but cannot afford to help due to some constraint. Moreover, extraordinary things come from ordinary people. Do this to encourage other children to emulate the heroic ones. Also, showing them that courage and bravery are attributes of excellence.

The stories are verified thoroughly through available means, to be sure only deserving children emerge as the recipient of the award. Therefore, only authentic stories should be submitted.



In addition, well qualified expert are judges of the Award. It is not a voting system, where highest number of voters win. so your story stands a good chance of been recognised.

In the physical category, Yahaya Zaki a 13 year old boy won the award for risking his life to save a little girl who fell into a well.



In the Intellectual category, 14 years old Lawrence Anthony won the award for his ingenuity. He created a prototype of police patrol van from waste.

Congratulations are in order for these brave Heroes. In appreciation, They received a sum of one million Naira in scholarship for Dufil Nigeria plc at the event which took place at the Marquee hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos on the 12th october,2019 . A hearty thanks to the Indomie makers for promoting Heroism among Us.
