Good afternoon Naira Landers.

So I saw a thread earlier on the Nigerian Navy advocating a "Berlin Wall" to stem insecurity in the country and I thought it wise to create a thread telling solutions, , not re-echoing the problems.

For me, security is wholistic. The moment we get governance right, the insecurity problems will abate. With the high rate of unemployment, we shouldn't expect a crime free country.

Nigeria probably has one of the highest number of out of school children. Education serves as a light. The millions of illiterates in certain parts of the country serve ready tools for terrorism.

I am of the opinion that Nigeria has amongst the worst security personnel in the world. No ethics, no love for the job, no depth, nothing! Many are there just for their belly. So you find especially police officers who get it right with their belly, but never with the job. For me, recruits into the Nigeria Police and every other security agency should have no less than an O.N.D. However, who am I to complain when the constitution allows persons with far less run for the highest offices in land?

I continue to wonder how we intend fighting insecurity without ICT and the right security tools. Show me a country without proper data base for its citizens and immigrants, show me a country lacking in the use of security cameras, and I will show you Nigeria not ready to fight insecurity.

Lastly, I think; I may be wrong, but I think there is so much anger in the land. Nigerians should be allowed to vent. Bottling it all up and acting things are alright is all wrong. Government should set up a truth and reconciliation commission to hear Nigerians. Hear the poor almajiri up North, he has a story, listen to him. To the struggling man on the streets in the East who feels alienated from the system, listen to him; he has a story. We must shun sycophancy and stomach the hard truths if we will make progress.

Please do share your thoughts on how we can help fight insecurity, you never know who in government can pick a thing or two from your advice. Thank you.

If the government are really ready to stop the insecurity madness, they know what to do.

Military regime bastardized the army, air force and navy before leaving. Those sector need thorough reformation. So many saboteurs amongst them

I agree with you sir, but I'll really appreciate if you can share your thought on possible solutions. We have heard too many times the problems and the their cause. It's time we begin to state possible solutions.

Like I said, the total reformation of army, navy and air force is the solution.

Did you know how many times the air force have killed the army claiming they mistaken them to Boko Haram.. It wasn't mistake but deliberate. Those are the work of saboteurs

How many are the Boko Haram members, how many are the bandits, how many are the killer herdsmen compared to Number of officers in Police, army, navy and air force?

We have an army of unemployed youths, an army of uneducated children and young adults; and even those educated, what is the quality of education they get. If security forces are reformed, don't you think we still we have major challenge in our hands if these others are left unattended.

Besides with the current harsh economic situation, there's little an American trained officer can do to arrest crime in Nigeria.

Blame the community that has been producing bad eggs. The same community is the one producing our corrupt politicians.

New mosques and churches are being built everyday in Nigeria yet the rate of crime is increasing. Who have they been preaching to exactly?

Before the mosques started sprouting at various corners in the north especially, how much provision did the northern leaders make for education? We've always had bad tribalistic leaders.

Nigeria situation is far above education.

Morality in the country has decayed.

As much as I want to agree with you, I want you to also consIder the West, especially U.S.A; they are not the most morally upright of countries, but they have citizens that are educated/exposed enough to hold their leaders to account, debate sensitive issues without resorting to primordial sentiments.
