IBADAN BOOK CLUB TO MARK WORLD BOOK DAY

In commemoration of World Book Day 2022, the Ibadan Book Club in collaboration with IHRAF Book Club will on Saturday 19th day of March, 2022 organize a series of activities to celebrate the day. One of the activities will be lectures to be delivered by the trio of Tolulope Ogunronbi, Jumoke Ola-Ogundele and Wahab Sulaimon Olamilekan.

In a release signed by the Coordinator of the Club, Ayobami Odunyemi said the event will take place at the Oyo State Library Board, Opposite Cocoa House, Ibadan by 12PM prompt.

World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day or International Day of the Book, is an annual event organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. The first World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April in 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day.

Below are short profiles of our guest speakers/readers.

Tolulope Ogunronbi is a Broadcast Journalist (OAP) with a unique difference. He studied at the International Institute of Journalism and graduated from the Institute in 2021. Currently a Newscaster, Producer (Studio Manager) and Broadcaster with Raypower 95.1FM Ibadan. Tolulope Ogunronbi will be talking on the Synergy between broadcasting and reading.

Jumoke Ola-Ogundele was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Olaogundele. She is from
Ikogosi Ekiti. Jumoke is a graduate of Industrial Chemistry from Ekiti State University and served in Lagos at Funmi Virtuous Educational Consult. As at the time of this reading, Jumoke Ola-Ogundele is the Founder of READ2ME MOBILE LIBRARY and also a digital marketer. She will be sharing her experience on Mobile Library.

Wahab Sulaimon Olamilekan with the pseudonym Rebel Stonez, is a graduate of Social Studies Education at the University of Ilorin. He is a poet, social educator, textile designer, social media marketer and customer relations officer. He believes in the African teachings of good character and respect. He finds pleasure in the blues poetry of Langston Hughes and Nikki Giovanni and also enjoys listening to folk songs of Michael Kiwanuka and Beautiful Nubia. Wahab's art works and poems have been published in the Artmosterrific magazine issue 2, Afrorep and elsewhere.
