My Boss Next Door (Episode 1) by SiriMySister: 7:52pm On Apr 21
After I had submitted my CV all over the city of Porthacourt, I couldn't still secure a suitable job for myself.

My two year rent was due and I didn't have any aid to my foundering.

The thoughts of relocating to Lagos clicked my mind, with the little cash I had, I didn't hesitate to find my way down to Lagos.

My journey to Lagos was really a tough one as I didn't have anywhere or anyoneto ask for shelter.

∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆

I arrived Lagos at about 11:45pm in the night. my idea was to settle there till the next day, so I could see clearly and make a clear move.

But as God would have it, a help came from where I didn't expect it.

One of the passengers in the bus I boarded walked up to me where I was standing helplessly.

He threw some questions at me and I responded by selecting my words carefully.

He offered to take me to his place for the night at where he resides.

I followed him foolishly, not minding if I will be beheaded, mine was to find shelter and start my life.

We got to a very big compound, I was a bit nervous, and different devilish thoughts came through my mind.

He knocked on the gate and a man of about 45 to 50years old opened the gate. We greeted and I passed, but he stood by communicating with the old man, of which I knew he was prolly explaining who I was.

He opened the boys quarter door and went in first, before I followed him at his back, peeping to see if there was any mysterious sculpture.

He turned and looked at me with a smile.

"Hi, sorry I didn't introduce myself to you "
"My name is Liberty".
" Feel comfortable and don't hesitate to ask about anything". He said.

I nodded with a weak smile and introduced myself as I stretched out my right hand for a shake.

Liberty seemed like a nice person. He set the shower and his school size bed for me.

He soaked the remaining garri in his container for us to sip, he literally left everything for me pretending to be alright, which I knew he wasn't, but I had to play along.

The next morning, Liberty went out of the room as early as 5:00am, he didn't return and I became worried. I was tempted to go out, but he had instructed me not to.

I waited patiently for his return so I could ask him some questions.

Hours later, the door was opened and when I checked to see who it was, Liberty came in all sweating and stressed.

He didn't wait for me to ask him the questions on my mind.

"I'm so sorry Debora, I didn't want to bulk you with so many details yesterday". He said.

" I work here as a cleaner and a janitor", I don't stay close by, that is why this small space was provided for me. He added.

Days later, Liberty introduced me to his manager and I was given a chance to work as a cleaner, directly in the boss office and other offices.

I was not comfortable with the cleaning Job and with my certificate as a graduate, I took a bold step to explain to the manager about my problem.

He spoke with the boss and I was called for an interview to work as a cashier, with a good pay

The company set another room for me in the same compound to stay until I was able to get an apartment.

It was a well paying offer. Something I had been praying for. Something I didn't even expect when I was in Porthacourt. It was 3 times better than the pay in Porthacourt.

As a graduate I am supposed to level up, and enjoy life. I said to my self. Honestly I worth the favor, cuz I'm brain made. I said grinning so hard.

I was so excited that at least, it's something to write home about.

I really enjoyed my work, my boss and everyone around there. Moving to Lagos was never a regret, not until something happened.

A few months later, I stumbled on this charming looking guy. He was fresh to earth. I never believed I could ask a guy out all my life.

I met Caleb at one of my colleagues' birthday party. Caleb was humble, sweet, caring and charming at the same time. He talks slowly with a bit of a horsky tone. This alone turns me on.

Caleb too was falling for me, such a coincidence. I pretended like I wasn't looking in his direction when he gave me a wink side eye.

He kept repeating it, so I felt really uncomfortable and decided to excuse myself. I stayed outside for a long time hoping to see Caleb come looking for me. It was a failure I would say.

My mind started beating and I couldn't go inside. I was confused if I should go back home or not.

I called my colleague to tell her there was an emergency and I was going. At first she didn't accept it, after a little plea, she gave in and I left.

The thought of Caleb filled my mind and I almost had an accident while crossing the road. His sexy light pink lip, his wide chest, his muscles, is it the long curly hair on his skin, horsky voice, his charming smile.

Mention everything a sweet man could have and you will define Caleb. The only thing I'm yet to know about Caleb, is his s*x styles, his long lasting and effective sex life. Every other thing about Caleb was giving.

∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆

I thought of Caleb that I fell asleep with the party cloth, and woke up to his thoughts on my head. I was really going crazy for an unknown sweet stranger.
"Why didn't I wait to at least have his number". I bombard myself with numerous questions.

Oh God, please deliver me. I said as I began to prepare for work.

I kept dreaming about Caleb and his physics. I kept swimming in the stream of love for an unknown sweet man that sometimes I forget to work.

After a few months, I was able to gather some money to move to my own apartment .

I checked on Google for an agent, I finally came across a contact of an agent which I contacted with a haste.

'Hello good day' I greeted.

"Yes, good day, how may we be of help please. He responded, with a sweet tone."

Immediately I paused. I was confused, if that was Caleb or another guy. " Wow, Lagos guys are just so sweet" I concluded.

" Yes please I came across your contact on "Rent a house, pay little " on Google. Please I want to know if there are any apartments available that I can check, and the amount.

"Oh okay, yeah, this number is on WhatsApp, please add up and DM, let me send the available ones and location. He said.

"Okay thank you so much, I will do just that. I added.
I hung up and ran to Whatsapp immediately".

" Hi, good day. We just spoke on the phone concerning an apartment. I said.

"Yeah hi, give me some minutes please. He responded.

After a few minutes, he sent options of apartments, amounts and locations. I scrolled down to check the one closer to work and of lesser amount.

After some seconds we concluded and we fixed a day to meet at his office and conclude on some things .

The thoughts of Caleb came back to my head, and I started thinking again.

How can someone sound so much like Caleb?
Could it be Caleb, nah it can't be, I said soliloquizing.

The profile picture is really about their company, a sweet guy like Caleb will always want to display his charisma and not that of work or whatever. I concluded immediately.

The fixed day came and I put a call through to him.

'Hello good day'

"Yes please, miss Debora right" ?

"Yes sir".I said.

" Okay, I am not in the office right now, and I won't be around today. But I will send the address to you, and another person will attend to you perfectly". He said.

" Okay no problem. Thanks.......... I responded

"Do have a great time there. He added.

(I hung up the call).

I got to the office, and of course he wasn't there. I was attended to by another person and it was quite frustrating, the procedures I saw online and the one this "man boy" is giving me is totally different. I murmured.

After a few arguments, I made payments and left.

A week later I called Mr Charles back so he will show me my apartment and the lady or landlord. I tried several times calling but it was a fruitless efforts

I kept on calling Mr Charles, and even sent him text messages, but he didn't reply.

I quickly checked through my contacts list, unfortunately I didn't save the other guy's number. I then remembered I had chatted with him once.
I quickly rushed to my WhatsApp and texted him.

Immediately, his automated response message appeared
"We are not available right now, but will respond as soon as possible"

I almost fainted, I kept praying inwardly I was already shivering.

I then dialed the number and it went through.

"Hello good afternoon " we greeted at the same time.
His voice softened my heart and I melted down already.
I allowed him to talk first.

"Yes plz, good day" . He responded.

"how can you people be so incompetent and poor in service to disappoint a client.
Is this how you people do? I started ranting over the phone".

"Ma please calm down, we are so sorry for the inconvenience, I promise to fix this, just give me a few moments please. He said.

I wanted to release another bomb, but his tones melted my heart and I went mute immediately.

"Hello ma!, hello are you there! He asked over the phone. And I hung up".

Immediately I started wondering why I would be failing for every animal, living and non living things.
I am not a run girl and I will never act like one. I said to myself.

After a few minutes, he called again and I quickly picked.

"Hello madam? He said.
" Yes plz I'm with you, I replied, a bit enthused.

"Please I have checked through and you didn't make any payments for your apartment. He said anxiously ".

" I didn't do what, make payments for the apartment. You are joking, you must be out of your mind. I said lividly. I didn't mind the affectionate feelings towards a total stranger this time before rendering a rain of insult on him and the company".

"Ma please could you please calm down. I will have to cross-check and work things out. He said with a soft tone.

"You better do, you and your stupid company should better do, before I arrest even the "infant of a man" called the Mr Charles working there. Rubbish. I said before hanging up.

I was so Furious and I needed to verify everything before that Mr Charles of a " man boy" ran away with my money, I didn't trust him from the first day.

I quickly changed into a blue jean trouser and a pink top with a pair of black snickers, just in case anything happens so I'll be able to defend and fight back .

I rushed to "Rent a house, pay little office, with a boiled mind. Frowned face and drum of insults that had filled my mind to release on them.

I got to the gate and the first person I met at the entrance was Caleb. He looked at me as if he was trying to recall where he had seen me before. I knew that in my head.

Immediately I saw Caleb, I paused, the softness of his tone and sexy side eyes melted my body almost to the ground and I got cold.

"Hi madam", Caleb said

Hi, I replied softly.
I am Debora, and I'm here to know why my transaction hasn't been confirmed cuz I paid.

"Yes please, I wanted to call you when I get to my desk, as you can see I am just coming from my boss office. We wanted to verify some things. May we go to my office please. He said".

" Oh okay! That's fine. I replied. And we headed to his office.

We got to Caleb's office and it was like the coolest. That I wondered if he was the son of the CEO of the company.

He offered me a seat and I sat down feeding my eyes on Caleb's cute face.

He noticed I was lost in thoughts, he returned a lustful look and this time I had imagined us in bed.
