Kogi State, Nigeria - A group of students in Kogi State have called on the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, to submit himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and clear himself of all allegations against him if he is not guilty. The students, in a statement issued today, criticized the ex-governor for his alleged greed and called on him to face the consequences of his actions.

According to the students, Bello's decision to divert state-owned funds to pay for his children's education up to 2035 was an unprecedented act of greediness. They further lamented on his decision not to utilize the state-owned fund that would have been utilized to better the living standard of Kogi State populace, particularly free education for the less privileged.

The students also expressed their support for the EFCC and commended its efforts to rid the country of corrupt politicians. They accused Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman, Bello's successor, of shielding the ex-governor from justice. They vowed to petition him while they also commended him for prioritizing workers' welfare, an act his predecessor neglected during his eight years of maladministration.

The statement by the students reads in part, "We call on Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to submit himself to the EFCC if he is not guilty as there is no need for him to be on the run. His actions have brought shame not only to himself but to the people he was elected to serve. We also commend the EFCC for their continued efforts to rid the country of corrupt politicians. We demand justice for the people of Kogi State, and we will not relent in our efforts until justice is served."

The students urged the people of Kogi State to support the efforts of the EFCC to rid the country of corruption. They also called on the Governor to ensure that the rule of law prevails in the state and to take action against anyone found guilty of corruption.

In conclusion, the students reiterated their support for the EFCC and urged all politicians to be accountable to the people they serve. They also called for a peaceful and prosperous Kogi State where the welfare of all citizens is prioritized.
