My Cousin's Encounter With A Nigerian Single Mother by wwwkaycom(m): 5:34am On May 08
In 2018, my cousin, who resides in Germany, tragically lost his wife to cancer, leading him to contemplate a new relationship. Encouraged by one of our aunts, he began dating a single mother from Nigeria in 2021, thinking that at 52, all he needed is a mature partner such as a single mother, widow, or a mature and stable single lady.

Unfortunately, this single mother turned out to be overly focused on money and material gain. Her family, especially her mother and younger brother, viewed my cousin as their financial lifeline, demonstrating entitlement and selfishness through constant demands for money and favours. Disheartened by their behaviour, my typically reserved cousin eventually ended the relationship after several warnings.

He then found companionship with a 36-year-old unmarried university lecturer in Ekiti State, Nigeria. They married in March 2023, and he has since relocated her to Germany.

Recently, he confided in me, revealing that contrary to his previous assumptions about many Nigerian women and their families, especially considering his experience with his former single mother acquaintance, his current wife and her family have never pressured him for money. Instead, they express genuine gratitude whenever he helps them, underscoring the toxicity of his past relationship.

Unfortunately, his former partner, the single mother, has been harassing our aunt, who introduced them. She even aggressively confronted me at the front of a bank last week, falsely accusing me and our aunt of advising my cousin against marrying her. I was furious and almost considered involving the police when she threatened me, but my friend and some mature bystanders intervened, and she was eventually escorted off the premises by bank security. It was an embarrassing scene for me.

Reflecting on these events, I can't help but wonder about the audacious and self-centered individuals we encounter in today's world. It felt like something out of a Nollywood film to me. She even had the audacity to claim that we drove her "helper" away.

Your cousin never see anything. He should thank his star that they didn't use some diabolical means to tie him down. Some single mothers are dangerous, have you found out why their former relationship failed? Date them at your own peril. I remember saying something like this on Facebook and my account was suspended. It's the truth.

It's not easy to raise kids as a single mother especially in countries like naija. A man cannot raise a child alone sef

U see the emboldened....OK, I pray u don't regret bn a gentle man...how??

One thing about a scornful person(especially women who re known to not be using their brain when raged) is that they don't care how long it take or how they execute their play, they would always want to strike back either they are at fault or not.

This issue u re taking with levity hands, I pray u don't regret bn a gentleman when u should have striken by involving the security authorities when u have not lost anything,
U might thing she won't do anything lol, someone that is already viewing you and ur sister as the ones who blocked her meal ticket
Pray she doesn't send hired assassin to you or your sister, by then I am sure u will cry ur eyes out in grieve and agony, tho she would be arrested and jailed but she might even be released after some years, but for u or ur sister, one is already gone and till christ come u will regret why u listened to those people that told u to ignore her that she can't do anything...

Being a single mom is not my problem here but having the entitlement mentality upon someone who isn't the father of your kid angry. Your cousin should count himself lucky for disassociating himself from that 'witchcraft' of a woman..........To even think that she's even harassing your fam members is more embarrassing.......Na only God know wetin your cousin for suffer for her hands if to say he mistakenly marry and take her follow body go Germany.

It's not really about being a single mother. It is no more secret that great percentage of Nigerian families see marriage as poverty alleviation program. Plus, the "abroad " factor, some ladies with the help of their families can go extra miles to get a guy they consider a meal ticket.
Go to prayer houses, babalawo houses, and many alters, you will be surprised by the number of men's pictures in those places.

It's either this entitlement was not there or not obvious before the age of GSM/social media. Many (men also) are now lazy and brain dead. Instead to be saving out of this regular financial support and use it to create a steady source of income, they will rather eat it at once and be waiting for another from mugu. When mugu wise up they become bitter

At least it would be put to her that should anything happen to the young man and his sister, she would be held responsible. So she will know she's under microscope

Your cousin dodged a missile, God saved him. And luckily for him and his wife, they're far away from that scornful witch of a single mother. Only God knows what she would have done to your cousin and his wife, if she can have the audacity to confront you and your aunt violently like this. Op, you have to be very very careful of her. As said by William Congreve " hell hath no fury like a scorned woman"

People differs; so I don't want to generalize.

But you see Ekiti state, that state is no doubt one of the best places in Nigeria to get a good wife.

.. unfortunately, many single folks out there are not aware of this fact.

Single mothers are POISON. Every single one of them. No exception!

They are HORRENDOUSLY entitled. And expect you to take care of them and their kids while NEVER having an opinion on how they raise said kids.

Your cousin is still NOT smart.

Relocating a 36-year old Nigerian woman who is bitter and jaded to a gynocentric first world country.

He will learn a PAINFUL lesson. It's just a mtter of time.

They got married just a year ago. So that's still new and that's why the lady and her family seem to be full of gratitude.

I mean someone that's been used and abused and then REJECTED by men in Nigeria is who he chose to cherish and pedestalize.

The lady has probably given up already when your cousin came to her rescue on his white steed.

Give it 2 more years and come back with an update. grin

Forget that, let me give you the update:

1. The lady would have gotten a job.

2. Contempt will enter.

3. Disrespect will flow like River Naija.

4. The family will disappear.

5. Most importantly, she'll start fucking other people INSIDE the man's house.

6. Your cousin will eventually catch with a strange dick inside her.

7. He get hurt and raise his voice at her.

8. At which point she'll call the police to throw OUT of his own house.

9. She'll accuse your cousin of domestic violence and get a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against him.

10.She'll initiate divorce and take HALF his wealth and resources including his retirement settlement and the equity on his house if she doesn't get the house outright.

11. Your cousin will see the "What have you done for us?" side of her family.

Unless he got a prenup which I'm 90% sure he didn't.

Any single man here, hear this and have peace.

Avoid deliberate single mothers not those whose husband died but those who became pregnant by sheer stupidity.

They are simply time bomb waiting to explode.

A person's family is more important than the woman because it is from the family the woman came. This is why men should not date alone if they want to get married, go back to the old days where someone from your family will do all the investigations on your behalf. Sheybi we want to be doing like the West doing Romeo and Juliet See where e meet us.

You don't know maybe it's the girl's family that made her a single mom in the first marriage and they are trying to do it before she enters the 2nd. Some women go into marriage and their family is controlling them with remote. If you marry a woman who is not mature, her family and friends will wreck her marriage for her. It is not by age.

Single mothers? Hmmmm...

What's the attraction? I never got it.

Fucking them, this I get.
But wifing them? I mean, I get confused.

Of course, not all turn out to be bad choices... But not nearly enough to erase the bias.

Damn, even when a good majority of single women are walking bags of brokenness, hurt, and unresolved issues from bad relationships with ex boyfriends, it's now the one that added a child(ren) to the equation that'll be better?

Omo, the math can't math abeg. It's just gonna be psychological issues multiplied.

I have not been to prayer houses, but I have the people running some of these places around me.

You are starting to sound more and more like Mercychen! Which is self righteous, critical and judgemental of others.

Once upon a time we were all young and stupid, we did things that our older selves would look back on and mentally cringe.

Some of us did stupid things without lasting consequences, others did stupid things with lasting consequences. However you don't get to judge anyone, doesn't the bible warn us against judging others?

The lady who has tremendously helped me on my faith journey, helped me to draw closer and nearer to God, who has been a great resource to me in different aspects of life is a single mother of one.A remarkable woman any man would be lucky to have, but according to yousuch a woman should be avoided because of the mistake of youth.

E sure me die sey, if the trumpet were to sound suddenly and unexpectedly she will be caught up in the sky with the Lord and self righteous folks may sadly not be called up.

Thank you my love. tongue
