I was having discussions with my guys about how I did 150km/hr few days ago.

So, I decided to create this topic. Here are few speeds I have done some years back.

When you are driving a 'sound' vehicle and on a smooth expressway, the truth is, you won't even know when you are hitting hard on the accelerator especially if you are driving a heavy engine like V6 or a V8.

While I do not know the current condition of some of these roads, here are few I have done before:

1. Lokoja - Abuja - Kaduna: 160km/hr (Dis road sweet wella)

2. Kontangora (Niger) - Yauri/Jega (Kebbi): 160km/hr

3. Abuja - Keffi: 140km/hr

4. Port Harcourt - Ikot Abasi - Eket: 140km/hr

5. Benin - Ore: 145km/hr (I don't really like this road)

6. Abuja - Jos: 145km/hr

7. Enugu - Port Harcourt: 150km/hr (escaped from some bad boys. A story for another day)

I had done 150km/hr in my early years of driving as per new driver been engrossed with speed. But now, I don't think under normal circumstances I could exceed 110km/hr. The longer you drive, the more you limit your speed.

Jos-Abuja 160km/h(myself)
Jos-Abuja 240km/h (not me driving)

Presently 120km/h because fuel is expensive and high speed ain't worth it

130km/h on Ontario Highway 404. I am quite young (younger than this site as a matter of fact smiley), so I have only been driving for a little under two years. Otherwise, I would probably have much higher speeds to boast of. I also have no ties whatsoever to Nigeria, but I find lurking on this site amusing.

I am not sure what typical road conditions are like in Nigeria, but the vast majority of highways/freeways in the West, made with routinely maintained asphalt aggregate, can support speeds far exceeding the legal speed limits usually imposed on them. So long as drivers are courteous and practice defensive driving, there is no problem with driving fast. This is especially true with Germany's Autobahn, which is one of the few major examples of a highway system without strictly enforced speed limits. Their road fatality rate is a few people per one billion kilometers driven, if I recall correctly.

That's a shame. Luckily, it looks like the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency has a page where you can report unsafe road conditions here: https://ferma.gov.ng/report-a-bad-road/.
Just kidding, I know they're probably too invested with embezzling funds than upholding public safety.

Interesting. With a v6 or v8 car? I probably would have gone a little bit faster if it was just me in the vehicle. A little bit because I drive a 4-cylinder. I mean I wouldn’t want to wear off my engine just for thrills of driving fast.

Damn! Nice ride

But on which stretch on that bumpy road, bro? Probably after Ahoada.

Try it on PH to Eket/Ikot-Abasi road.

It's been fixed ,no longer bumpy,
Except for the few flood damaged sections which is like 0.1% of the stretch.

Highest I have ever done is 160km/h on Enugu Port Harcourt express.

I was racing with one man, didn't want him to overtake. Didn't even know I was going that fast. Until I looked at the dashboard and saw 160km/h.

I slowed down immediately for the man to pass. Life no get part two.

This happened last year. Nowadays, I'm more careful and would never go above 120km/h for any reason. This life still dey sweet me like sugar.
