Is Abuja Becoming Another Lagos? by paulipopo(m): 8:23am On Feb 13, 2012 |
Dear nairalanders I need your opinion on this topic. I first visited Abuja in 2000 and at the time it was a beauty to behold although residents said it was fast fading away that was 12 years ago. Today I live and work in Abuja and compared to 2000 when I first came, Abuja is a shadow of itself. What's your take on it? I would appreciate if you have Photos of now and then let's contrast and see how Abuja has changed over the years. Thanks |

There's nothing wrong with Abuja. No city on earth will look eternally 'brand spanking new' except in your dreams. Just enjoy the place and stop disturbing us. |

In terms of infrastructure abuja has really develop since 2000, so i think the OP is talking about social changes. I have notice a wild increase in hawkers, beggars and "off the road markets" in abuja over the years. during Adamu Aliero administration he destroyed every illegal market and it was hard for people to hawk/beg. The current FCT administration is being a bit to relaxed when it comes to those issues, hence why the OP is saying its starting to look like lagos. I don't live in abuja, Its just from what I noticed/heard. |
