I want to build an application that helps users interact using protected routes that can only be accessed by users that have registered after payment to an account.

If you want to make money quicker, especially in the nigerian tech job market, my brother, na nodejs , php or java oooh…I recommended nodejs cos it requires javascript which is a beginner-friendly language and you can jump from a beginner to a job-ready developer quicker. nodejs is widely used by most tech companies in naija, while java is actually used in those enterprise companies…anybody that tells you something different na clown. Even internationally, you can check how huge the demand for javascript developer is.

None, most especially if you are just learning programming.
By the time you become employable, another language is dominant in the market.
Just learn programming first, master it and get experience in the language/framework you have mastered you will get insight on what language or frameworks to learn because it will be easier for you to learn.

Learn the basics first.

For web development - HTML, CSS, JS & PHP
For App development - Use App builders (Online or Offline) - be ready to pay for subscription packages.
For desktop app development - C++
