Kajaard:

Me too. While I was working there for 3 years I constantly kept falling sick. Since my company transferred me to HQ in Lagos 2 years ago I hardly fall sick anymore. The air pollution in that city is something else.
I have been in that City since June, and I was beginning to lose my health. It was as if I step into another world immediately I left PH.
I have been sleeping like a baby for the past three nights.
I don't think I was sleeping up to five hours per night while in Port Harcourt.

I live in PH. I called professional cleaners to tidy up the whole place when I thought I didn't do enough clean myself. The black sooth is still everywhere after a day.

A sneeze in a clean white handkerchief will show you the kind of bad air we inhale here.
This is serious

I don't think it's illegal refining. If it were to be illegal refining, Bayelsa and part of Delta would be worse hit. And it's the job of the FG to clean up Rivers like Osibanjo promised

His Excellency, Gov. Wike, You can do something about this. Please do something. We do not have to wait till people start to drop dead on the road.

The soot issue has assume a hydra headed dimension. The Federal Government is clueless on how to to go about ameliorating the situation. Gov. Wike isn't bothered about it because some of his supporters at the rural area are neck deep in bunkering activities.

My only regret is using a milk colour tiles in tilling my seating room some 12years ago. The said tiles have a way of eccentuating the severity of the black soot. The moment water spill on the tile and someone whose foot has the impramatuer of black soot step on it, that spot automatically get messed up.

My worry is the startling discovery that the black soot has the capacity to render men impotent.

The Federal Government needs to declare the black soot as an environmental emergency and exert the required energy towards finding a solution to the problem.

I advise that you get out of the area. The effects of the soot has long term consequences.

Alternatively, while you remain there, try to get air purifier in your home if you can. You will also need N95 type masks whenever outdoors.

I know these options maybe expensive. You best option may be to move to another area of the state with less pollution.

Edited: The indigenes of port Harcourt get paid lots of money for all these pollution thing. If you are from Port Harcourt it means you've been paid a certain amount of money for this pollution.

So my question is how much did they pay you?
Were you not paid?
Did you not collect the money? Why are you now crying.

This is what i meant that you aren't demanding enough from the FG.

I forgive those who misunderstood me. I believe the op knows what I'm talking about but feigning ignorance.
