Igboid: What interest has Amaechi shown? Infact Amaechi has maintained his disinterest in running. Yet you are doscussing him becoming a consensus candidate. Transfer the zeal to an Igboman. If it's your turn and you can't step up then Igbo is not man enough to do what others do. YarAdua had no money when he became President. Goodluck had no money when he was made Vice President. It's Igbo turn, stop beating others down and front an Igboman. Put your zeal towards an eligible Igboman. You are naive to think APC will give flag to Umahi. How old is Umahi in APC? 1 Like |

Igboid, Listen to what your Ohanaeze said. https://www.nairaland.com/7049258/south-east-presidential-aspirants-not-assertive#111406839 Igbo sons are not politically assertive. Your role is to endorse, that's the best you can do. Most times even your political endorsements miss the target. 1 Like |

Igboid: Your inclination to being simp is laughable. Because of Presidential slot, you quicky fall in line with the brief and skimpy suit the Fulani juntas sew for you after the war? What a simp! Igbo is wider than you think. Never you mix geopolitical zone with indigenous people , they are miles apart. Yourubas are in Kwara State yet they claim North Central. Igbo is not only in 4 states of south east. Igbo is never a geopolitical zone but south east is. Do not limit the expanse of Igbo indigenous people just to sound politically correct. I understand all lowly minded set of people think women and sex. You are excused. However, real men reason beyond their loins. South Eastern presidency is the point. Not Igbo presidency. Whoever mixes both isn't street smart. I hope you understand. 1 Like |

Igboid: I authoritatively say that the above statements are wrong. Ikwerre people are Igbo. The apex Igbo organization Ohanaeze Ndiigbo clearly defined all Igbo-speaking communities (including Ikwerre) as part of Igboland. The point is that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is the main body that can tell us what constitutes Igboland, and their definition is in line with ancestral and historical records. It would be wrong to deny any Igbo-speaking community from the South-South when it comes to political appointments, as if a "valid" Igbo candidate must be from the South-East region. This is totally wrong. Let us also remember that the geopolitical delineations like South-East and South-South are not enshrined in the Nigerian constitution, thereby rendering the geopolitical regions arbitrary. So, if we are talking about a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction, it means that the candidate can be selected from any part of Igboland irrespective of state of origin and irrespective of geopolitical region (since the geopolitical regions are not in the constitution). So, if Amaechi becomes the consensus presidential candidate, he is a valid candidate of Igbo extraction since he is from Ikwerre, and Ikwerre is Igbo. If he actually becomes the Igbo flagbearer, what Ohanaeze Ndiigbo needs to do is to advise him to encourage Ogbakor Ikwerre to come out fully and declare that Ikwerre is Igbo. Secondly, Ohanaeze Ndiigbo should reach two agreements with him in writing in order to support him or any other Igbo candidate for that matter: (1) he must do everything in his power to keep Nigeria one as a sovereign country if he becomes president, and (2) he must bring all parts of Igboland under the umbrella of one geopolitical region through boundary adjustment and state creation, given the fact that Igboland was deliberately portioned into different regions following the civil war. |
Re: Amaechi Presidential Dreams: Ndiigbo And Ikwerre Political Opportunism by SweetiliciousD: 5:09am On Mar 28, 2022 |
Donarozzi: That is the point. Igbo spans beyond delineation defined by Fulani junta. I strongly believe that the point of discourse isn't president of Igbo extraction but South Eastern state geopolitical zone, that said, its constitutional legitimacy not withstanding. I stand to be corrected that Igbo spans beyond only 4 states of Nigeria. |
Re: Amaechi Presidential Dreams: Ndiigbo And Ikwerre Political Opportunism by chrisxxx(m): 5:22am On Mar 28, 2022 |
Donarozzi:Bros you have spoken well. However Amaechi can not rewrite history all by himself. Amaechi knows his history and will not sell it over a plate of porridge. The Ikwerre people of which I am one see the Igbo people as a closely related ethnic group with them. They see them as neighbor and brother. There is no history anytime that the Ikwerre people had ever accepted to be Igbo. It didn't happen before the war and will not now. Check when Ohaneze was formed and confirm if there was any Ikwerre man of note who was a member. Igbos should think about how to form a Union with related people and not how to coerce them to be Igbo. Copy from England that formed UK and Northern Ireland. The English man never forced Scottish man to be English. The same with Portugal and Spain, Malaysia and Indonesia, Poland and Ukraine, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Similarities of language exists everywhere. Ikwerre and Igbos weren't exception. 3 Likes |

Donarozzi: Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is a deficient organization for allowing non Igbos like Ikwerre in her midst. Ohanaeze is out touch with reality and have actually short changed Ndiigbo by allowing people like Ikwerre who have made it obvious they are not Igbo and have taken every single opportunity to denigrate Ndiigbo whenever they could. My next thread would be on Ohanaeze weakness and how it has emboldened Ikwerre Igbophobia and manipulation of Ndiigbo. Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is run by old Igbo generation who are obviously still living in pre civil war era and have refused to move on with current realities. Amaechi and Ikwerre are not Igbos, nobody( not Yoruba, not Hausa-Fulani) stopped Ikwerre from being Igbo. This is a decision Ikwerre made on her own and must be made to pay for it. Infact it wouldn't even be a problem if they are not Igbos, but the problem is that they are Igbophobic and are out on a secret agenda to further balkanize and humiliate Ndiigbo. Ohanaeze have compromised the political and economic growth and geographical integrity of Ndiigbo by allowing Bini renegades in their midst and even letting them in our secret chambers. They have allowed Ikwerre to have their cake and still eat it and by so doing have made mockery of Ndiigbo. 10 Likes |

MetaPhysical: Amaechi is simply being cunning and keeping his cards close to his chest. He never said he wasn't going to run. I made this thread just to make sure that Amaechi and his Ikwerre supporters know that they will not be running on the back of Ndiigbo. I have not beaten anyone down. I made it obvious that Amaechi deserves to contest but should be doing so as an Ikwerre, Rivers man or South South man he is. Did anyone beat Yaradua drum before OBJ picked him as PDP candidate? Ogbonnaya Onu, Okorocha, Ngige have been with Buhari and APC from the formation of the party, if he doesn't consider them good enough to be endorsed, maybe it should be a message to them that they cannot not escape the Igbo tag and treatment even if they choose to embrace Nigeria and Nigerians? As for Umahi, why shouldn't APC flag him? I mean does it mean he didn't do his homework well or have assurances from inner party men before a moved from PDP to APC? If that be the case, what do you suppose Igbo commoners do? Party primaries cannot be affected by commoners as we are not Party delegates. 11 Likes |

amuwo1980: Amaechi has not shown any interest in running for Presidency. A few days ago when he was told on Arise Tv that there was a support group that was agitating for him to run, he asked them to give him the money they are wasting. A man who was going to run for Presidency would never say that |
Re: Amaechi Presidential Dreams: Ndiigbo And Ikwerre Political Opportunism by LLiKYekoba: 9:34am On Mar 28, 2022 |
gidgiddy: It is actually necessary to set record straight. Monkey can't be allowed to take what belongs to baboon because they look alike. A Rotimi presidency is not an Igbo presidency but an Ikwerre/Bini presidency. We cannot be asking for Igbo presidency and bleeding for it while another person from another ethnic group takes it because he wore red cap, ishiagu and spoke few Igboid words, few months before election day. Igbo presidency must remain Igbo presidency. Anyone who wants to vote Amaechi or Wike can do so on their own volition but not on the pretense of Igbo presidency. Their election won't stop the legitimate clamour for Igbo and SE presidency, it will only mean nigeria still has a 'carry over' to write on the Igbo/SE presidency question. And the question will continue to be asked until it is properly answered. 12 Likes 1 Share |

good argument. seconded. Let me tag . dude is always promoting Amaechi as an Igbo candidate. Amaechi is from Ikwere. That he married 4rm Enugwu-ukwu in Anambra is not enough. Stop sharing videos of him speaking Igbo language so as to sway Igbo voters. Ndi-Igbo is a major stakeholder in the Nigerian project. Peter Obi, Umahi, Ngige, Onu, Nwajiuba, OUK & Rochas are all capable candidates from Ala-Igbo. Thank you. 10 Likes |

SweetiliciousD: Write from now till tomorrow. Ikwerre is not Igbo. This is the position of Ogbakor Ikwerre, the Apex Ikwerre body which even Amaechi that is using you emotional lots to play ping pong is part and parcel of. I'm not speaking about Yorubas. They can go solve their problems the way they deem fit. My disposition towards Ikwerre has nothing to do with Presidential slots. Infact I had opined many times here that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo owe Ndiigbo a duty of officially expelling all Ikwerre in the organization and denouncing Ikwerre claim to Igbo at any point in time. There is no wisdom in embracing someone who sees you as an enemy and would not waste time to harm you if opportunity presents. It's actually folly. I am also aware that there are proud Igbos in SS. But Ikwerre is not one of them and it's about time Ohanaeze makes it official by publicly saying so. The whole idea of an organization or group is that only members who bear the brunt of the organization sufferings and weaknesses, can actually benefit from the advantages of being members of the organization. By allowing Ikwerre who are not Igbos, who have their own independent Igbophobic organization called Ogbakor Ikwerre, and who show disdain and hate towards Ndiigbo to be part of Igbo organizations and reap the benefits of being Igbo while being clever to escape the disadvantages of Igbo by disclaiming Igbo when it's beneficial to do so. Ohanaeze Ndiigbo has proven it self to be senseless and have shortchanged Ndiigbo. How dare they allow dogs partake in the meals meant for the children of the house? Even Jesus was against such arrangement. Ndiigbo must demand that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo address this Ikwerre conundrum once and for all. 9 Likes |

Ojiofor: A Northern candidate with an Igbo VP The answer is simple. SS and the Minorities have had their turn of the presidency and VP. Igboid: Obviously, there is a disconnect between your point of view and mine. I am not Igbo because I say I am one, but my way of life, birth circumstances, language and culture say so irrespective of my personal inclination. Denounce your heritage all you like, you only fool yourself doing so. You don't become or cease to become what you naturally are. You can't naturally be a black man and all of a sudden change to be a white man. You don't have that power. "Even if one fails to acknowledge his age, his age will always acknowledge itself." An Igbo addage says so. I rest my case. |
Re: Amaechi Presidential Dreams: Ndiigbo And Ikwerre Political Opportunism by Igboid: 1:56pm On Mar 28, 2022 |
Ojiofor: Even the Igbo VP or president will still be a puppet to the North. But I would rather have Tinubu as president than have an Ikwerre man as president if I could help it. What Wike did in Obiigbo is a tip of the iceberg of the amount of toxicity the average Ikwerre man habour for Ndiigbo. 8 Likes |
