Maxymilliano:/ The same nonsense stories they used to sell Buhari's candidature to you is the same they are using to sell Tinubu to you again. All by the same people. Blinded by religious and tribal sentiments, Nigerians will continue to make the same mistakes. The beauty of it is that everyone buys at the same price in the market. Who dies first loses I pray that petrol sells for N2000/ltr and diesel N5000/ltr. / |

Maxymilliano: It’s amazing that you think this is all Buhari’s fault. I guess it’s also Buhari’s fault that the price of gas in the US has gone from about $1 to over $5. Better you understand the big picture before you start drawing conclusions. Ps I am not a Buharist and don’t belong to APC. 1 Like 1 Share |

subsidywise18: Yes Diesel Gen are more rigid and as such generate much KVA per hour than Petrol gen, Remember when Generators were been made, The idea was not that you use it as your main source of power, all generators are meant to be back up in case power from the main grid fails for a couple of minutes or seconds. Diesel gens are larger and this is why for universities such as covenant and big institutions , they dont even bother themselves with buying diesel and generators, they operate thier own gas plant and generate their own electricity that way. Benjamin Franklin that man who discovered electricity would be fuming in his grave 300 years on, a certain country cant produce more than 4000 MW of electricity for 200m people Power generation is a simple engineering phenomenon , it is not ROCKET SCIENCE ROCKET SCEINCE is an area of physics that is very very difficult to study and replicate, Power generation isnt 3 Likes 1 Share |

] adonainana: Thanks for the information. That makes things more clearer. Benjamin Franklin that man who discovered electricity would be fuming in his grave 300 years on, a certain country cant produce more than 4000 MW of electricity for 200m people Power supply is poor in Nigeria because the makers and distributers of the power cannot sell it at a profit. Government sets their prices and keeps it low...so they cannot make a profit...then there is the fact that a significant percentage of Nigerians, rich and poor, don't pay for power they use. The same issue...be it ECN, NEPA, PHCN or DISCOS, GENCOS, TCN. (Also, add the overexpansion of the national grid from the late 1970's beyond what the generating capacity could supply because politics). |

Whynotthetruth: It is well sir I can feel you 100% Businesses are paying too much to power their machineries... May God help us as a nation. If only we can get our electricity production and distribution right, the nation would be better for it. Many Nigerians that are leaving for neighboring West African countries are doing so because of the Availability of constant power supply. More than 4 million Nigerians are in Ghana today and many are not willing to return home because they are enjoying constant power supply. Despite the high cost of living and police / Immigration harassment, many are not willing to return to Naija. If Only we can get a leader that can solve this Electricity issue, then Nigeria would be among the Top 10 economies in the world in a short time.... Just imagine with all our challenges, we are still number 1 in Africa. Then, If you give this Youthful Population constant power supply to run businesses, we would overtake many Western countries in no time. May God help Nigeria... |

faceland: No, it's because the cost of refining fuel in the US has gone up due to the rise in crude oil prices... As a result, prices of fuel go up to cover the resulting costs. (They don't have subsides in the US for fuel, except for the poorest of the poor) Modified The report you linked to said the refineries are closing down because of rising costs and debts...which covid didn't make better. Not because 'green policies' |

This is the same fate or even worse that will befall the price of PMS once the subsidy is removed without a conscious effort by the incompetent President to put in place buffers to alleviate the sufferings of the citizens! Maybe that is when our citizens will realize our leaders do not mean well for us! I have a question for those who have come out in supporting subsidy removal....what will be the fate of the economy and most especially the Nigerians that world bank predicted that more than a million will dive into poverty before the end of the year? Is it the 5k per month proposed by the FG that will get devalued once the PMS subsidy has been reduced? However there is no better solution to the ever increasing price of Diesel and PMS than building new refineries! My question is what has happened to the modular refineries that the FG claimed to have built and commissioned? The more you ask questions the more you marvel at the level of cluelessness and incompetence of this accidental administration! Totally bereft of any idea or solution to tackle the many problems they are face...the worse part is not just about having another glorified ancestor as a presidential flagbearer who will definitely continue from where PMB stopped, its the fact that some misguided youths are even trying to market these recycled politicians as the best thing since sliced bread! |
