It has to do with the upbringing and the level of love within the family. In a loving and cohesive family, the sister would never agree. Both sisters would rather ex-communicate the guy than either of them going with the man. In a family where there is no true and deep love, these are the kind of things you see

These events happened because of expensive dowry payment for a wife in IBO land! The men were doing 'point and kill' because of their perceived value for the money they were about to spent!
IBO people should stop offering their girls for marriage as if they were for sale!

Sisters who lack family values you mean.
No good sister who treasures her sister would want to sleep with her sisters man.
Remember some family members, SOME, are household enemies.
You shouldn't desire your sister's man, for what? Have men finished?

I can relate

Updated: There was this lady I was rolling with sometimes ago, somehow somehow that feeling towards her changed when I met her younger sister because her younger sister has my ideal woman's physical attributes.

In order not to cause kasala for their family as a real nigga, I zeroed my feelings for her and cut off anything that can bring her sister close to me or my way.

But her sister make sense pass her, I no go lie, I was able to overcome that due to strong self control.

Bad family upbringing.

Such can't happen in true christian homes. I am not talking of church going homes o bearing Rebekah, Mary , Juliana. I mean real christian homes.

Such can't happen.

All you have typed is based on the assumption that your younger sister is not in love with the man in question.
From the story, all 3 younger sisters fell for the man.

First of all ewwww disgusting
Secondly no if the man said he prefers my sister and she accepts then good for them , they deserve each other ,why would I hide my sister because of man ?? This is not a loss it's a blessing in disguise, if I hide her today what of tomorrow ? My children's aunty boya I should kuku erase her from the face of the Earth on top of prick matter , if clothe no size me I go give person wey e size , since men want to be passed around like hand me downs
My sister is not mad , she'll even be irritated at his lack of self respect and indisciplined behavior , that's if she's the same sister I've been mentoring since childhood, no sensible woman would accept to settle down with a man who does not acknowledge her relationship to her family that's if she comes from a good family or has a love for her folks

Most times what causes this is that some people's parents have informed them that marriage is the end goal and now it's a competition of who gets it first , I can't say if they have happy marital life but I know for sure that they will remember it everyday they see themselves , they'll feel guilty , insecure , they will feel threatened by the sister whom they believe they betrayed , they will have wild imaginations of what if ? What if this man changes his mind , what if there's another person

Basically most women who agree to such have low self esteem and believe marriage is a goal , they attach a lot of importance to it and therefore they jump when they see the first boat no matter where it's coming from or who was on it
How to prevent it ? Me personally I don't think I have the energy to be imagining such a funny story , my sister remains my priority before any man , she knows this much , we've suffered together , all I want for all my little ones is peace and happiness , I don't know where those 3 picked their sisters from

True talk. But some people are spinning it like such men came to sow discord in the family of the girl.

I know 3 people whose younger sister married the man they were to marry.

1st one - 4 months to the wedding - Help me drop my sister in school. Sister got pregnant. Family insisted he marry her.

2nd one - Few weeks to wedding, came to announce he preferred the sister. Everyone prayed sister would decline. She didn't. She went ahead to marry him.

3rd one - Man lived abroad and someone connected them. They had talked and planned for months. Man visits Nigeria, came to the house, met sister and she hosted him until the main babe came home. Man says he now wants sister.

By some very rare coincidence, all 3 ladies are over 47 today and haven't gotten married yet.

Gisting about it today with a friend, she is asking if the sisters should be forgiven or if we should hide our sisters.

What can I say?

I don't know biko.

My own sister would never marry or even get an inch close to a man connected to me in any way, but I guess we are all different.

Ladies, what do you say? @bukatyne

Let's discuss and learn.

It can only happen to people so badly trained it is not a taboo to sleep or have a relationship of any sort with your siblings boyfriends and ex boyfriends. It is a sign of bad upbringing because anyone who is well brought up the thought cannot even enter your mind.

I think this is where many of you get attractions wrong. You don't control attractions. The problem is acting on those attractions. Apart from the one younger sister that acted on her attraction and became pregnant, the men chose the younger sisters over their elder sisters.
placeofallure:
Things happen anyway. But personally it seems so odd for a girl to be attracted to her sister's man. I see him as family already. Those 3 ladies are still single even at 47 because they couldn't see past the betrayal. They must have been really hurt deep deep inside. Orisirisi!

This your Okafor's law is funny o! grin grin grin
okoroemeka:
I don't think they are the initial target, this is simply the theory of okafors law no 2 been proven again,it states the inconvenient truth that if you have a woman and you are treating her well, you have a high probability of also dating her close friends, sisters, aunties and even in some cases the mother, many women are expressive and like to boast about how generous ,rich and also the sexual prowess of her partner, indirectly feeding the fantasy and subconscious of her friends with an erotic image of a father Christmas in shining armour.

That cousin no get joy grin grin
Nonexisting:
The one I know of involved two cousins bearing the same name, Onyinye (not real name) and the same surname. Man came back from abroad to meet Onyinye that someone referred him to only to be directed to the wrong Onyinye's house by a man he met in the village on hearing the surname. Meanwhile the two girls' families were not in good terms so the two girls were not talking at that time. Las las, the man started talking to the Onyinye that he met. The original Onyinye who no dey come village waited for the man they had referred to her to no avail only to hear of her cousin's actions later. The sad part is that the second Onyinye knew quite well that this man didn't come for her because Onyinye is her second name which she didn't even answer much at that time but as Ernesto De La Cruz in the movie COCO says, she seized her moment and didn't give a fucck. They are married till date and they both live in Canada or so, I'm not sure if it's Canada or the USA. Vaginarians are each others nightmares. grin

Another angle.
However, what is wrong in going to the market to buy a red shoe, but on getting to the market, you see a black shoe that you like more than the red one, and buying the black one instead.

We don't control attractions

FalseProphet1:
The men in question were never in love with the ladies in question, it was just a case of going to the market to buy a red shoe, you pick it up and as you're about to make payment you see a black shoe that's more attractive than the red one, then you drop the red one and make payment for the black one.

People like that don't know what they want and would easily cheat on their wives in marriage.

This I have seen.

Hmmm true. But The sisters were attracted to the men too. The truth is that theses things happen.
It better to be open about it.
Now, imagine the men married the elder sisters and regretted it
pretydiva:
Blame the sisters. Even if the men made advances at them, they were suppose to decline it. Knowing fully well these men are already engaged to their sisters.

May I not have terrible sisters like these

So the sisters should deny that they were not attracted to the men?

The people before me have said it all. No well brought up, loving, Godly, sister will fall in love, not to talk of marrying her sister's suitor. It's greed, selfishness, low self-esteem, lack of self-worth that would cause such.

Man don finish for this world? There are good men everywhere, why not pray for their own to come, na to steal the one wey come for their sisters. Anyways, both the men and the sisters deserve one another. Those men are as fickle and unstable as the wind.
