The Post:

Please, read carefully.

Someone submitted her Study Permit Application in April without upfront Medical for fall semester.

Finally, decided to go for Upfront Medical after waiting for over 12 weeks without any updates or Medical request apart from Biometric Confirmation from April.

Upfront Medical was done in July because of difficulty in getting an appointment in June.

Medical status got updated to pass in about 4/5 days after Submitting Med information sheet via webform.

It’s over 13 weeks now and Eligibility review doesn’t show on gckey that it has started.

Questions:

1. Is it possible to get ppr without eligibility showing it has started on gckey?

2. How long does eligibility review last before ppr? That is, the expected duration. I know everyone case would be different.

3. Since the application is over 13 weeks and fall Semester is just a little above 1 month from now. Is it ideal to send emails to MP to inquire about the status of her visa ?

I’ll appreciate your reply if you have any other suggestions. Thanks

Oh! I read the post already...
1) Yes
2/ no duration at all... eligibility can start today and you get PPR tomorrow... it can still not show that it has started till PPR comes
3) Start sending out mails and webforms

those resuming September, please try to book your upfront medicals, the only available date in the month of August is 31st.

I was just relaxing thinking I should wait till I am instructed to go for medicals but looking at things, decisions on the study permit application made in June may not come until the middle or end of August and booking a medical then may require one scheduling an appointment by end of September.

I really dont know what to do at this point. I applied june 2021. They started working on the application october 2021. I requested for GCMS that was how I got to know about when they started working on my application. I already moved my resumption to January. Got a LOA update mail and medical request this year. I submitted a new LOA from the same school and same course and my medicals was updated to pass April 2022. I am supposed to resume this September but no update yet. I saw a ghost update last month ending and got a mail stating they would finalize before my resumption date. Till date nothing. I dont know wetin to do again. I cant move the admission again.

If you received a ghost update late last month after MR and a request for valid LOA, then there's nothing to be disturbed about. You have a considerable chance of getting PPR before your enrollment deadline.

Good evening everyone, some one help me please, I got my new letter of acceptance after visa has been issued to me. My former letter of acceptance has expired. So I had to differ my school admission from May to September 2022. Do I need to send the New letter of acceptance to IRCC through webform or not?.

Hello everyone,
I applied for a student visa on the 7th of February this year but I have not been given a response yet. I tried calling IRCC, after several attempts that took over 3 days I was finally able to talk to an agent who told me that my application is in the Canadian branch in Kenya. I called the branch in Kenya but it turns out that study visa applicants are not allowed to talk to agents but I sent 2 emails but I have not been given a reply yet.
Is there any way that any of you can be of assistance to me, maybe by giving me an email or number I can call for assistance because I have already been given full admission to Uottawa which is supposed to resume on the first of September and my parents want to buy a ticket before the prices increase.

Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Hi DorcasTobi,

You can enquire about your application via the following channels:

Getting school admission does not guarantee a study permit; you must meet the requirement for a study permit. So, if it's been a long since you left school, ensure your intended program is related to your present occupation.

Yes, as a student, you can work 20hrs during school and unlimited hours during holidays and scheduled breaks. Let me know the program you have decided to study.

Yes, you can withdraw money from your account after you have printed a bank statement or generated MBS. Banks cannot disclose funds beyond what is on your bank statement. Although this rarely happens, IRCC can ask for an updated bank statement if they suspect foul play.

Yes, they will contact the bank to confirm what is on your statement but not what is available as of the time they contacted your bank. In other words, they are limited to what is on your bank statement.

Bigdaddy001:
Good afternoon guys
Please I want to be clear on this.
After submitting my bank statement can I withdraw from my account to do what I want to do?
Secondly, will the VO contact my bank to know the amount I have there?

Good evening house. I’ve been a spectator and must say I’ve learnt quite a lot on this platform. Please I’ve just received my PPR and submitted my passport waiting for the visa. I plan to apply for my wife and 2 kids to join me though my session is starting September. Pls I need advise if wife should apply for SOWP ( Spouse Open Work Permit) and if this should be done using my profile or she should apply for visit visa? I’ll really appreciate a response.

She can apply for SOWP or a visit visa. Although she can apply now, it's preferable to do it when you start your studies in Canada. She will need a copy of your study permit and proof of full-time enrolment for the application.

Yes, your spouse can use your account. This means that you are applying on behalf of your wife. As a result, you have to submit the Use of Representative form (IMM5476)

Hi Bruno10000,

Securing a spot in a Canadian tertiary institution is the easiest of the whole travel-abroad process. I would implore you to cancel out the thought of using an agent for mere admission. Instead, research 3 schools that meet your preferences and return here to ask questions. As a matter of fact, you can mention me (don’t PM) and I will be happy to guide you if you ever find yourself at a crossroads.

Can’t wait to celebrate with you.

Hello boss

1. It's very possible that eligibility has started without reflecting on your portal... Mine wasn't updated till after PPR dropped, and I've seen a lot of people here with same experience.

2. No one can provide a definite answer, some take few hours, some - days, some - weeks, and for some months.

3. Your application has passed the processing time. Start sending lots of webforms and mails to Nairobi, Abuja, Lagos, London and Beijing. Also reach out to MP's to help inquire from IRCC. In addition to that, request for your gcms note now, so that you can know how far your application has gone... If you have your departmental or international center email of your school, they can also help to inquire from IRCC.

I wish you all the best.

Which school are you going?
