I have often told people that Nigeria's population isn't even up to 100m. That is why they have refused to do a credible censors 1 Like |

BentizilL:It's not about what you believe. Even without a census, there are other scientific ways of figuring out a population. By every scientific estimate, not just data from our government, Nigeria is over 200 million. 2 Likes 1 Share |

You people just love to project your wishful thinking as reality. You want to use election stats to get the total population of an underdeveloped country like Nigeria Very laughable ππ BTW, how many of the 3,002,388 members of Nairaland partook in the just concluded elections Your guess is as good as mine 3 Likes 1 Share |

Mckandre:ππ Don't mind the mischievous OP & his supporters. They fail to realize that a large number of Nigerians will NEVER vote, if they're not forced. Even if their polling unit is in their sitting room while they're in the bedroom, they'll still be reluctant. People that even registered, how many were enthusiastic enough to go collect their PVC. 3 Likes 1 Share |

BentizilL: Nigeria Is Far Less Than 150 Million People. The Population of Nigeria Has Always Been Over Bloated And Manipulated. Nigeria's Population Should Be Between 100-120 Million. |
Re: Nigeria Population Is Inflated.... by KanwuliaExtra: 1:26pm On Mar 03, 2023 |
Is it not obvious? The reason Buhari waited till 2022 to sign the electoral act! So he can count all his COWS that voted. Imagine that there were less than 100 million voters. |
Re: Nigeria Population Is Inflated.... by Talawaka: 1:26pm On Mar 03, 2023 |
BentizilL: I beg to disagree. Even if you ignore the population projections provided by the national bureau of statistics, our Telcos and Banks will set you straight As of January 2021, Nigeria registered approximately 187.9 million mobile connections. The number of mobile connections corresponded to approximately 90 percent of Nigeria's total population. I support your assertion because every Nigerian not living in his or her village during census is likely to be counted twice. How do I know, i remembered those days when the census officials came they always counted all people in our house. |

Parachoko:We are probably close to 250 million even 300 million if 90 million could register for election,it means we are even close to 500 million Almost half of my church members does not have PVC Almost half of people i know does not have PVC These are people over the age of 18 years Just imagine the number of under age,Even usa that has 350 million people where almost every adult votes, Number of voters is around 150 million Just imagine NIGERIA where people do not vote and we still have 90 million registered voters 2 Likes |
Re: Nigeria Population Is Inflated.... by Karlifate: 1:55pm On Mar 03, 2023 |
baralatie: Out of 80 million+ of registered voters, just a little above 35% turnout was recorded. Part of this same 35%, some were intimidated, some were disenfranchised, some ballot boxes were snatched, some destroyed etc. Now using the inaccurate data of a disorganized system, to get the population of an underdeveloped country, is simply foolish. 1 Like 1 Share |

kayusely70: We can not have a credible census because we do not have accurate birth record, death record, immigrants, emmigrants etc. Even during census, there are places they can not get to but only have figures allocated. What if those who have religious belief that they can not be counted and women on puddah that won't come out. 1 Like 1 Share |

The latest data from the NCC estimates that there were about 198 million active mobile lines in Nigeria in February 2022. So far, 125 million SIMs have been linked and verified during the process and about 73 million SIMs that have not been linked to a person's identity. 2 Likes 1 Share |
