Also be truthful to tell the world that : Oil and gas accounted for 90 percent of export income in the first quarter of 2022 and 85 percent of government revenue in Nigeria thereby making the country a mono-product economy owing to its dependency on oil and gas. Without the South South Nigeria would have ceased to exist, all this useless fight over the control of Nigeria is because of the resources of the South South. We don't brag but we know the region that is keeping the failed British experiment called Nigeria afloat 19 Likes 3 Shares |

Biodun556:The only State in the southwest producing Oil is Ondo. IGBOs are blessed. Not only in Oil, but abundant Natural gas. If we count Igbo areas in Rivers and Delta, in fact, no need to compare. ONELGA Rivers alone dwarfs whatever Oil produced in your southwest. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Do they manufacture Garri and Akpu? The most staple food (with rice) in Nigeria. Is food processing not manufacturing? When you are bereft of the idea of what manufacturing means and how encompassing it can be. 1 Like 1 Share |

BastadThiefnubu: Where did you get your fake statistics? Oil and gas account for about 35% of export right now. Buhari has managed to diversify away from oil export. The only thing is that oil and gas still account for substantial part of forex income. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

The South East don’t have “manufacturing clusters” or “manufacturing companies”. what they have are Small Medium Scale Enterprises in large numbers”. These SMEs are doing well and have become millionaires through them. Manufacturing often requires partnership, like LLC or Group, where you have Boards. Igbo man sovereignty and ego mentality will hardly let one man be CEO while another become Group member. SW have more of that mentality, plus Ogun is just reaping from being close to Lagos to manufacture things and export. Lagos Millionaires and Billionaires should partner State Governments now that electricity is State venture, to give them stable electricity, then they can go into partnerships that yield manufacturing. SE Governments should create Free Trade Zones, federal ministry of interior approve them easily. These will empower manufacturers to invest in Free Trade Zones (FTZ) in Aba, Nnewi, Abakaliki, Enugu. Manufacturers love Free Trade Zones, SE Governors should create and lobby their approval by FG! That’s what Lagos enjoys. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Biodun556: Lol, it's either the writer is myopic or just too ignorant. Nobody ever said that SE region is the most industrialized region in Nigeria. However, there is a difference between SE region and Igbos. Those industries in Lagos region, are they owned by yorubas? Of course not! The industries are owned by Federal government, Indians, Igbos, Fulanis, Yorubas, Chinese, Hausas, Lebanese etc. If they all divest from Lagos, the city will stagnate just like Ibadan, ogbomoso, oshogbo etc. Those bigots promoting yoruba supremacy will end up destroying themselves. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
