totit: Service contribute more to Nigeria GDP than manufacturing, this is area Anambra top Ogun and other Southwest states except Lagos, in manufacturing minus oil producing States, the real manufacturing next state to Ogun is Anambra State, Ondo is just above Anambra in manufacturing because of oil just like other Southsouth states, Anambra and Abia are home states of indigenous industries

post=122660435: To start with, it's even a disaster if service contributes more to the country's GDP than the manufacturing sector. Secondly, your GDP stats are old. Lastly, below is the impact of what importation does to any country; it causes more damage than good. No research anywhere or in any country will tell you that importation should be encouraged. Bonus; none of your responses has disputed the reality of this thread and the beauty of the impact of local production brings. I can remember vividly how you were celebrating the recent FDI into Anambra so you can't deny you appreciate the impact of FDI on your Anambra economy; talking about both local and foreign manufacturing /investment. totit:Why is it a disaster? Is that what the Qur'an or bible says? That is just an opinion,an ignorant one at that In the UK it is about 70% In California if is the biggest component. What do you think banking, insurance,Telophony,IT are ? What is Twitter,Google,Facebook,Tiktok,Nairaland,Paypal,Visa,MasterCard,MTN,Amazo,DHL, KLM,Lufthansa,Transport and logistics I could go on forever |

Gajagojo: You'd notice my screenshot state only discourages' Major importing economy ' it should be 80% production and about 20% importation. I notice you were mentioning states and not counties. Ask yourself, why is China doing better today the second-largest economy, import or export, why? |

totit:Nigeria economy Agriculture and service top the list, USA, China, Japan,Dubai etc are servicing driven economy, Anambra is a commercial hub that is why they are doing well in service, still doing great in manufacturing and Agriculture, service driven economy take huge junk of unemployed out of job market, unlike manufacturing, those depending on peanut from these companies, that is why its very easy for a trader to build 5 to 6 storey buildings in Onitsha, Nnewi and Aba than a factory worker in Ogun |

Federal Government and state government benefit more in formal sector like manufacturing because its very easy to regulate and tax them unlike informal sector |

post=122661082: What year was this your table /stats conducted? I think we should start from there why? Because, I believe, the issue of GDP is not one-year-sided or base. Don't you agree or think so? This year it could be Agri another year it could be mining, etc. |

totit:UK is not a state You have not explained why it is a disaster? You are just making random percentages What is the basis? Mature and sophisticated economies outsource manufacturing to poorer countries with low wages. High manufacturing capacity is not the same If you are doing $10 billion in Boeing 747 engines versus I made engines. Still even more rewarding is being an international finance hub such as London and a hub making Boxer shorts |
Re: Lagos And Ogun Account For 86% Of Manufacturing In Nigeria by totit: 5:12pm On Apr 21, 2023 |
Gajagojo: Oga, why use just UK and when you want to measure American economy are we supposed to apply one or two states to draw our stats? Think nah. Ha Jan What of Germany, China, Japan, India, Canada, etc Are their economy or GDP based on one state or two? Below is the disaster, screenshot below and unfortunately, it seems it is where we are now in Nigeria; we are borrowing up and down.
