Rabiu Kwankwaso will be 74 by 2031. Nasir El-Rufai will be 71 by 2031. Nuhu Ribadu will be 70 by 2031. Kashim Shettima will be 65 by 2031. Babagana Zulum will be 62 by 2031. Of course, there might be other Northerners who will step forward, but watch out for these 5. https://twitter.com/OgbeniDipo/status/1699822525130195197?t=z94Mdxx2q8q928DCH3GdeA&s=19 Many people in the comment section on Twitter are saying Zulum, but I disagree. Even tho his very competent, but his tenure will finish in 2027 and he won't have the influence and resources to influence delegates, Shettima is his beneficiary too and won't contest against him El rufai won't contest for personal reasons too Its between Ribadu and Shettima, whoever Tinubu supports will eventually win 2 Likes

Kwankwaso, Ganduje or ElRufai |

Babagana Zulum. He's liked enough in the North to court absolute support. And if you put him in the ballot alongside other names, enlightened Southerners will effortlessly vote for him. His likeness for education and human capital development is only rivaled by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. 1 Like |

GeneralPula:You should try and Google how he became a governor. He said it himself that he is not a politician and became a governor by coincidence, he also said he is not interested in having a career in politics nor vying for any higher political post. |

GeneralPula: The one mistake Nigeria cannot afford to make is have a President in the moulds of Nuhu Ribadu, Nasir El-rufai, Kashim Shettima and Abdullahi Ganduje. |

GeneralPula: El-rufai is just superb at infrastructural development. He's a colossal failure with Human capital development and an avoidable catastrophe where religious extremism is concerned. I know Ganduje wasn't on the list but you can't put it past him when discussing Northern options for the Presidency. He fancies himself as a Northern force in the political scheme of things. 1 Like |

Wainey: Goodluck Jonathan became a governor by happenstance and often touted the same sentiment about not being a politician. But he went on to occupy Aso rock for 6years. His emergence as Yaradua's vice in 2007 even, was as a stroke of luck when Donald Duke rebuffed the option of deputising Umaru. |

Wainey: One of my problems with nairaland users! Y'all somehow expect to put up opinions that will go unchallenged, and when other users make informed efforts to have lucid conversations with you, you term it arguments, as if the other party should be so dumb or timid to swallow whatever you put out here. Whether Zulum proclaimed he isn't a politician or otherwise, it doesn't change the fact that he's currently the Executive Governor of a Nigerian state, a full time political office, which makes him a politician for the duration of his office. 1 Like 1 Share |

Of course, Ganduge is a grassroots politician. He performed very well as a Governor, even tho that dollar video put a dent on him. Ganduge being a performer is why the north still regard him and didn’t really give too much damnnn over the dollar video.. Don’t be surprised that if he contest for the presidency primary, he can win.. 4 Likes |

My point exactly. Ganduje's infrastructural performances while in office is not up for debate and there are feelers the man is gearing up for 2031, very reason he put in his best to remain in the political spotlight in this administration. But just like El-rufai, Ganduje is politically vicious, religiously intolerant and a democratic upgrade of late Sani Abacha where corruption is concerned. That man at Aso rock can sell Nigeria in a heartbeat. 1 Like |

BoldBrainz:A politician despite having a political office, also Chases politics as a career. Zulum has said he has no interest in chosing politics as a career and won't want another office after this, he is an Agric engineer who became governor by some twist of faith, he is different from Jonathan. Do u understand what I said or we should just forget this discussion? |

Wainey: Baba, I understood you from your very first response and I'm not even arguing that fact with you. Zulum is more of an Academic than a politician, but considering how well he has performed as a governor so far, if the North beckons on him for the Presidency in the near future, he'll heed the call, same way Jonathan did. |
