Lagos Stopped Being The Capital Of Nigeria 31 Years Ago by Tunde835(m): 9:40am On Sep 11, 2023 |
For half of Nigeria's history since independence Lagos was not the capital it was Abuja. When Lagos was the capital it was Lagos Island and not the present day mainland Lagos and Lekki. This means most of the areas of development were part of the western region. Declaring Lagos a city in the literal center of Yoruba land as not Yoruba land is irrational. Igbos would deny any form of sense and say that the reason Lagos and South West is years ahead of them in development is because of it being the capital that it stopped being 31 years ago. The planning for Lagos' replacement even goes as far as 1976 which was 47 years ago. |

Tunde835: Lagos is what it is because of the ports, and because it is geographical positioned at the edge of Nigeria Though no doubt, we all know Lagos is of Yoruba nativity, that one no doubt, but the reason Lagos is booming is because of the geographical positioning, nothing more |
