Ah, the usual igbos vs Yoruba thread. Sitting here with the popcorn as I watch grown ass men disgrace themselves. ( Munch munch) Kind of a disgrace we have child labor, even in the OPs home region. Anyway, let the show begin. ( You can use the ignore button ) 151 Likes 6 Shares |

I don't believe it is that low in Ebonyi. Meanwhile, no region comes close to the North in this case if the research is properly conducted. Enter farms in the North, check underaged nomads within and outside the North, check the female teenagers in girl-child marriages. Then, tell me how another region will rank higher than the North in this case. 52 Likes 9 Shares |

Let them define child labour.. Seems they counted Boyi Boyi as Child labour. Useless statistics. 159 Likes 14 Shares |

anungangampu: This is what I wanted to ask too Did they include igba-boi in this statistics? Igba-boi is not childs labour. It's a form of apprenticeship. Most Great Igbo Businessmen started from Igba-boi 61 Likes 4 Shares |

nairalanda1:It's actually South East versus North East competing for the top spot for who is the worst in child right neglect. Not everything is funny and definitely this is not funny, these are real children whose destiny and lives are at grievous risk. Here's calling on the authorities, especially states Governors, to address this serious problem. The two zones are the hotspots of terrorism in Nigeria and this could be a feeder to the terrorism prevalent in North East and South East of Nigeria. May God bless Nigeria for ever! SeeWahala: I don’t understand what you’re talking about. I am Yoruba, what you are talking about is alien to my culture. However I do know using underage girls as sex slaves in brothels across Nigeria, baby factory, slaves to madam in homes, and forcing them to hawk gala, and beating them mercilessly because they are living with someone while being used as slave is part of child abuse. 142 Likes 13 Shares |

SeeWahala:There's no child labour worse than igba/nwa boi. It is an organised child labour with the complicity of the parents. In a situation whereby these boys literally become servants for their masters and their madams at home. They sleep inside the containers, wake up early to open the shop, run errands for Oga madam in the day, clean up the poo of Oga's kids, go to their Oga's house to wash plates and clean the toilets, all for a plate of food. Nwa boys go through the most pathetic condition of existence. 135 Likes 11 Shares |

Ofunaofu:Igba boi are the number one in the category of child slavery. A lot of people denigrate Ebonyians but the truth is Anambra boys are at the top of the ladder, the ibo apprenticeship system is a form of formal child slavery acceptable among ibo society. 110 Likes |

Umunzeorumba: Anyone in university is not a child. You have tens of thousands of Yorubas that do apprenticeship too where they learn tailoring, hairdressing, carpentry, plumbing, technician, and etc. if they can count nwa boy as part of child Labour, then they would count omo ikose too as child Labour. I also personally know a hairdresser who by chance was also my twin brother that dropped out of university in 2010 too that now has like 25 mansion and property worth billions of naira to his name. His oga then too is a billionaire in $ today. 30 Likes 4 Shares |

Except they did not define what they mean as 'servants' That should be a mischievous and misleading statistics if apprentists are counted as servants. Southeast has the least out of school children so no one believes your narrative. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Igba boy is the basic of igbos economic growth .. and major reason igbos in reality are above poverty .. comfortable and self reliance. Unlike the Yoruba people that sit and wait for Government handout call salaries.. while shouting sophistication Listen Aside Lagos .. and Ibadan .. not Oyo.. the whole of southwest is an abandoned region .. with poverty and hunger ravaging.. The youths in those region call themselves farmers .. but produces nothing If am lying any nairaland can travel or visit any Yoruba state for confirmation Not online gist The North is another region where many of their youths remain unproductive But the southwest Yoruba people remain the number one of unproductive youths .. especially males They learn handwork .. without capital to start after freedom The boyi boyi .. invest their time and years 4/5.. and in next 6 month of being Oga.. they’re already in their way to China Far East .. to import Without fraud , internet fraud , rituals .. culture.. southwest would have been the poverty capital of Africa This is the reality and honest fact. 14 Likes |

The reality of this thread is a bitter truth on how different people see sees six and nine Without the master servant relationship.. igbos would be living in 1970 era... The federal destruction of igboland would have been so visible.. raced with chronic poverty Present Ekiti osun Oyo ondo ogun .. would have been heaven compare to igboland Maybe without civility But all those change because of apprentice system of igbos So if Yoruba call it slave .. Na how Dey know Fact Individual hustle.. igbos farewell than any other tribe in Nigeria Learning mechanics ,sowing, grinding pepper , handwork is good.. only say one need capital to start .. Na that Yoruba lack And the wealthy Yoruba people careless about their poor cousins uncles brothers etc.. So call it servant .. slave .. anything g.. those if s see it all as hustle And it pays them more than anything done by any of the 350 tribes in Nigeria Including my tribe.. Ofunaofu:Those small ibo boys were picked up from the village to become child slaves to their Oga in the cities. After serving for 6,7,8years, their Ogas refused to settle them, some are given half settlement. Some, after being settled are tied to their Oga's apron. These boys have also devised ways to defraud and loot from their Ogas as retaliation. They steal and run away to begin a fresh start elsewhere. Ibo apprenticeship is a pure form of mordern child slavery. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

LegendHero:You and I know it's highly impossible to see Anambra boy or girl doing house help, the reason why Anambra top the list is many of the boys from Anambra after secondary school they, under go apprenticeship system, that's why Anambra is leading state in Nigeria in commerce with more than 48 standard markets and they are doing well, Same apprenticeship system built Igbo land after the civil war, the are being thought how to manage money while your people are being thought Owambe and extravagant lifestyle that is why typical states in your region are covered by Brown roof, while those serving to know how to manage wealth you can see the difference, former governor of Ekiti once called for Yoruba youths to go and learn igbo apprenticeship system, he understand the huge impact the system is doing to Igbos after the civil war 15 Likes
